Like really over heated?Sounds like the engine may be stuck...ceized . May have to try and get the engine to turn by turning the flywheel with a pry bar. you did mean the engine would not turn didn't you?
Testimonial: "No the engine wont start. The battery is fine. Will fire once then not start."
Without the main belt the alternator will not charge the battery so might not have enough power to start. But the main concern is that the water pump also runs off the main belt and if it over heated it could have caused other major issues such as blowing a head gasket. Do not recommend running it without the main belt!

Assuming the terminals are hooked up correctly, are your cable ends corroded? Are you sure the fittings are clean and tight? If it was hooked up backward check your fuse box and hope it only fried some fuses.

Try these easy things...take off clean and reconnect the battery cables, take to Auto Zone for a FREE computer hook up. More than likely if the battery hook up doesn't work it's the oxygen sensor.

Have you tried checking the catalytic? This is for filtering the gases from the combustion and can be one of causes of the power failure.

yes you have to remove the drive belt ,best advice is to take the vehicle to a AC specialist who will the compressor output with a special machone as it may not be the compressor ,the compressor should push out about 200lbs at 1500rpm
