There could be several issues:
1 - Faulty water pump - bearing starting to go?...inadequate pulley belt tension? Probably not this since you had a week of good operation.
2 - Faulty radiator fan(s) - make sure at normal engine operation that fans come on. There may be a bad fuse or faulty sensor. Might be this ... electrical things at times can be finicky ... but odds are low
3 - Obstruction in coolant pathway - there have been references with debris accumulating in thermostat housing. When you replaced your thermostat was the pathway clear? Did the internal system where coolant flows look nice and clean or dirty? Even with new thermostat more debris may have dislodged causing a blockage. May need total coolant clean/flush. If your system was not totally clean ... my odds are on this one
4 - Worse scenario - head gasket leak - you would probably notice bad engine performance if the leak is bad. Does the coolant still look good when you take the cap off? Were you loosing coolant or just overheating?

It could be a faulty thermostat. Did it do the same thing before u replaced the t-stat? It sounds like it's sticking closed, then all of a sudden it opens, coolant flows correctly. I'd consider changing it again. Check to make sure parts store is giving u the correct temperature thermostat also. Maybe it's too high for your Ford, delaying the opening.

SOURCE: 2002 dodge durango overheating while driving, not

you could have a bad hose, check the upper and lower hoses and hake sure they are not caving in on themselves. sounds like it could either be that or you might have something cloging the hoses. run the engine with the hood open so you have the pressure build up, and look at both raditior hoses. see if they are bulging out as pressuer gets built, or if they cave in .

All car no have the heating inside have cold dodge journey 2011

Check hoses at firewall carefully both should be relatively hot when engine at operating temp. If system is working correctly inside the output while be colder than input hose. If both cold replace thermostat. If not it may be a temperature control actuator, which may mean a visit to a repair shop depending on its location. Finally check all fuses related to climate control.

I have a 2001 dakota that is overheating. put in new thermostat, didnt help. put in new water pump, still overheating. finally replaced the radiator. still is overheating. what else can I do to fix it

Sometimes when you open cooling system, air gets in, it can cause problems with temp gage.
How hot does it get in degrees F? Is the coolant boiling over? Are you losing coolant? Use a non-contact infra red temp gun to take engine temp, At least we will have a degrees F reading. Most temp gages say hi or lo, cold or hot. I don't know about yours?
Can you check for combustion gases in the coolant?

My 2010 dodge journey is running hot and the heater is blowing cold air. Temp goes back down to normal while driving. No indicator lights r on. Is it the thermostat or heater core?

Most likely neither is the problem, to verify the heater core is ok go under the hood and touch the heater core coolant supply hoses (hot engine) one will be really hot and one a little cooler, if this is the case the heater core is ok and you have another problem, that other problem is most likely a failed part or parts called the air temperature control blend door motor or door is defective. Also I doubt the engine is overheating, it gets hotter while sitting in traffic because the electric fan that cools the engine only comes on at about 225 degrees Fahrenheit. If you had an overheat condition the check engine light would also come on to alert you of the overheating condition.

My 2010 journey is over heating what can I do to stop it

Figure out why and correct this issue. There are numerous things that can cause overheating and many are beyond the average do it yourself repair. Some possible causes are: failed thermostat, failed water pump, broken water pump belt, low coolant level, failed cooling fan, failed electrical cooling system, failed heater core, leaking hose, air pocket in cooling system, failed radiator cap, failed radiator, cracked head, cracked block, failed headgasket etc. Beware it only takes one time overheating to damage the cylinder head or headgasket. Get that checked.

Why does my 2013 Dodge Journey sputter when at a stop

Could be bad gas, throttle position sensor, a vacuum leak, fuel filter clogged. First thing to try is put a can of "SEAFOAM" in gas tank. If that doesn't take care if, have a mechanic look at it.
