On Board Diagnostics , the service centre will plug there computer into the car's electronics and should read any faults that are there, I would have thought the service manager would have mentioned that.
OK. Thanks. On Board Diagnostics. Service Manager didn't suggest that! Wonder why not. I will ask him to do that if nothing else works.

If you bought it new from Toyota I would talk to the district manager or whomever is above the dealership you spoke with until a solution is obtained .
May be regional manager is the one who you can speak with .
Are the dots red ?
May be under "trace route " in the manual or the navigation drop list .

Touch ROUTE TRACE > START
Touch ROUTE TRACE > STOP
Touch YES to delete the red dots.
