Hi,I have a problem with a 2005 Honda CRV 2.2cdti. The car will occassionally lose power, almost like its not getting any diesel. It has cut out quite a few times, when this happens in low gears e.g turning at a junction the car will not restart. on occassions it does start, it puffs irrelgular form the exhaust and sounds like it is mot firing on all pistons. Fuel filters have been changed. Many Thanks,Seamus O'Rourke
Blockage in fuel pipe. Try to identify which is the supply line from the tank, disconnect it from the filter inlet, then switch the ignition on, holding a jar to catch the fuel. You should get a good flow for at least a few seconds before the pump shuts off. Some cars will pump until the sense the pressure. They will pump continuously until ign' switched off. In a quiet environment, you will hear the pump. If the pipe is clear, you may have a faulty primer pump, usually fitted near or even in the tank.
The first thing you do is have the system scanned for faults.
I would first check all the wiring harnes multi plugs, if you have one that is loose that would cause an intermient fault and if left to progress could over heat and in extreme circumstances could set on fire, i am not tring to scare you but i have seen this have to various makes of vehicles. the connections could be arcing. if they all seem ok, obviously check the battery conections and the main fuse link that supplies the fuse board, they are usually near the main battery and are quiet say about 20mm long. another sugestion is the ignition switch could be faulty. if you can get the cowling off from around the steering column and get access to the switch, with the engine running give it a wiggle, this will also work for the wiring connections, have the engine running the checking the conections if loose or faulty it should cut the engine out, ONLY DO THIS TO THE 12 VOLT CIRCUIT, DO NT TOUCH THE IGNITION LEADS OR WIRIES UNDER THE BONNET WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNING. Hope this helps
SOURCE: 2005 Honda CRV won't start
My wife just called and is stranded in a parking lot because our 2005 Honda CRV won't start. When she puts the key in the ignition, the beeping sound is in full swing but as she tries to start it, she gets the famous clicking sound. Does this sound like the starter in a car that is only three years old and well maintained? Could it be the battery?
Help asap if possible. Thanks!
I have the same problem as ROBERT

Sounds like the fuel pump may be going out. I'd have it checked.

There is probably an air lock in the fueling system, you need to take the out the air lock in order to the engine start well and remain idle.
