Car is limp mode and the code comes up with solenoid A. Can't find a Chilton to see if I can fix it or if I have to take to Honda.

try getting a new shift solenoid for it. i had the same problem on my 2002 chrysler town and country and my plymouth breeze which is also a dodge product. it is very simple to do and doesnt take all that long. the part will probably run you about 150 to 200 dollars but it should fix your problem.

the vehicle may have a electrical problem and or mechanical problem in the trans....id try replaceing the solenoids and then the entire transmision and torque converter.
SOURCE: What does code P0753 Shift Solenoid mean?
P0753 means your powertrain computer detects a continuous open, short to ground or short to power in the circuit to your transmission's 1-2 shift solenoid. When the code is active, your transmission runs in a fail safe/limp home mode that only lets certain gear ratios function in the transmission.
The solenoid in your application looks like this
and it is located sometimes on the side of the transmission, but my guess is from the looks of it, it might be found inside the transmission, only accessible with the oil pan removed.
The problem might be the solenoid itself, or the wiring going to the solenoid from the computer that controls the transmission, or the computer itself.

the tcm may be faulty or has a loose ground, try swaping in another if you can get one borrowed or a cheap used one from a salvage unit
