SOURCE: car goes into limp mode wont come out of 2nd

That happened to my '95 OLDS Aurora... Turned out to be 1&2 gear shift solenoid had "popped" out. He replaced new solenoids and a factory patch kit and ****** shifts like brand new. Hope that helps you cause that was less than 10% the cost of a new/rebuilt transmission!

SOURCE: in limp mode cant get out 96 dodge avenger ES V6

Change your speedometer sensors, one might be bad, but change both to be sure, then reset computer. To get transmission out of safe mode. Check and be sure your transmission fluid is ok while car is running and on flat ground. If low be sure to use right fluid, wrong fluid can cost you a transmission

2004 Hyundai Getz 1500CRDI D3EA engine goes into Limp Mode when it reaches normal operating temperature?

Question edited for clarity, spelling of maker, toss in some CAPS
Question moved to maker category.

" overheated due to welch plus failure. "?? What??

When it goes into Limp Mode the ECM will throw codes telling you why you are in Limp Mode. From the code you get the fix.

An auto electrician with a professional grade scan tool computer can look at historical codes. Limp Mode is very serious and is activated to stop catastrophic engine failure.

1999 Jeep Cherokee. The transmission will not shift past second gear. It is stuck in Limp Mode?

Yes, that is the whole idea of Limp Mode. It limits you to first and second gear so you can limp slowly to the nearest garage without causing catastrophic damage to the engine. What you need to do is connect a good quality DTC code reader scan tool and see the real reason that Limp Mode has been engaged.

I went to start my 2008 jeep commander and all these different system errors popped up......help please??

Would really like to help but iam clueless here as well,if i had motor in front of me and threatened it with my magic hammer then i might have a better idea ,reading your description over and over i think it may be a sensor on the auto box ?could be a wire off touching earth or a faulty temp sensor making it think its overheating causing it to go into limp mode or just shut down mode .No idea exactly where this sensor could be as all our motors are manual here in europe ,well 99% anyway

2008 Jeep Commander with 5.8l Hemi problems with instrument panel

Have shop run an OHM test on your transmission sensors -- then have them replaced and rerun the OHM test. -- it's more than likely an input speed sensor that is not working properly and telling the jeep to go into "limp mode" hence your speed isn't changing but it can't read the actual speed.
