What is the cause of a grinding/clicking noise from my Kia Sportage 2001, happens when I brake/accelerate at random.

I just had the starter, battery, valve cover, spark plugs, transmission flushed and fan clutch replaced. The check engine light is on and the code says I need to replace the O2 sensors, which I have bought the part for and will fix soon. Although I don't think this problem is correlated with the O2 sensors. I also just had an oil change.

The oil in the spark plug may cause the car to run sluggish. The oil may prevent the spark plug from firing correctly or cause you to burn oil. You may want to replace the oil seals around the spark plug holes by removing the valve cover and you should be able to change the oil seals underneath the cover. While at it check the engine for loose wire connections and loose vacuum hoses.

2001 blazer makes a grinding or clicking noise during acceleration.

Yes, you need a brake job or clean the brake pads by taking off the tires, then the drums, wipe the inside of the drums of dirt, wipe the brakes off, and reassemble.

My 2001 Kia Sportage EX won't start. At first it would grind like it wanted to turn over, but now I only get a clicking noise. It happened a couple of weeks ago and I was able to have it jump started....

Well, the next question is, how is the battery getting charged or is it charged up enough?
If it's not charged up as indicated by the Amp meter of a charger hooked up to house current, then the alternator may not be outputing enough current or voltage to charge the 1 year old battery up.

Try charging the battery up independently of the car's alternator to find out.

Good luck on this repair.

Remove the brake drum and check the brake shoes. I had a similar problem with my 99 Sportage. The brake shoe separated from the backing and was jamming the brake drum. A new set of brake shoes fixed the problem.
