SOURCE: installing chip and want to double check wiring. Need to find IAT/MAF sensor diagram for 2003 Ford Ranger

Save your money, the chip is a ohm resistor at Radio Shack for under $2.00. It splices in to you IAT wire harness located at the intake tube between the air filter housing and throttle body.
Problem with this system is, that you can not adjust anything and have to run a constant 91 octane just to make sure you do not have a Detonation. The ECM will catch the Detonation from the knock sensor and compensate for it by retarding the timing which in turn lose of HP till next start up.
If you like and don't mind the check engine light on once and awhile, you can do the same by just disconnecting the IAT wire harness which give the ECM a 0 resistance thinking it's -20 out side and turn the timing up and lengths the injector pules.
When i was running a Nitro in the Toy before i sold it, i had installed a 10K ohm Potentiometer which you can buy at radio shack for under $5.00 i believe, I just spliced it in to the IAC wire harness so if i wanted to play with the Nitro I'ld turn the resistor up making the engine think it's 185 degrees F and would ****** the timing so i would not hurt the engine. But if i wanted to get more timing i would just turn the knob to drop the resistance to get more time since the engine thinks it's -20 out side.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted if you need more info. Best thing is to do a dyno tune and you can change everything right down to the Shift points.

SOURCE: 2003 Ford Windstar Power Window Failure

I have the same issue, but mine got a little worse as time went on. I got a new motor for and when I took the door apart I had to lower the window. so I had to plug the switches back in, and what do you know it started working. so I tested for 15 mins stiaght and it statred working every time I pushed the button. So, I would try that first before you spend over $70 dollars just for the part.

SOURCE: Where is the O2 Sensor located on 2003 Ford Focus?

The code will tell you which O2 sensor it is.
The code will point to either bank 1 sensor 1; bank 1 sensor 2; bank 2 sensor 1; bank 2 sensor 2.

From what I remember with a focus, it should only have 2 sensors, sensor 1 will be located before the cat, and sensor 2 will be located after the cat.

When I run diagnostic on it 13 keeps coming up ,after I have replaced the oxygen sensor, the orignale sensor had a couple wires melted

If you've replaced the sensor twice, cleared the code and the code continues to reappear, either the harness wires between the o2 harness plug and ECU are suspect or the o2 circuit itself inside the ECU is suspect. You can test the wires that run between the o2 harness plug and the ECU itself by disconnecting the harness plug that comes off the o2 sensor and the plug from the ECU then test each wire by touching the red multimeter probe to one end of that wire and touching the black meter probe to the opposite end of that same wire with a meter set to read continuity/ohms.2.0 ohms or less indicates the wire is ok.Do this to each o2 wire.
You can also test for a short between two wires in the same harness by touching one probe to one wire & touching the other probe to the opposite wire,on the same end of each wire. This will reveal if a short is present from worn insulation between two or more wires in the same wiring harness. The meter should read a very high ohms value or OL if the wires are ok.If not,it indicates bare wires are touching each other.
When testing a length of wire for continuity, the harness plugs at both ends of that wire have to be disconnected in order to get a correct reading.

I have a short to ground on my o2 sensor. The short is from the sensor plug back to the pcm. How do I find the short in that wire with an ohm meter?

Hi Kelly I'm afraid there is no easy fix apart from running a new wire, ( not advisable).
It is a matter of checking wire / harness from front to back. Disconnect Battery.
if you disconnect the connector at the 02 sensor and at the pcm is a short to ground visible at both ends?
You really need a wiring diagram as there may be connectors in between, also its possible that the wire colour may change.
visibly check the harness that the wiring runs through thoroughly.
Check any areas that the harness may fit tightly across any metal object or affected by heat. Do you have any issues in your area with mice I.e. in country or near field ? if so you may have a chewed through wire that is grounding out. There are normally signs on the engine (nesting matter, stains etc ). If this is the case check any dark areas Example under air filter box if harness runs that way may not be applicable as I do not know what vehicle you have ,but move anything you need to so you can inspect harness.
Testing with ohm meter, disconnect both ends set meter to ohms/resistance MAKE sure you have correct wire/ pin place one test probe to a good ground and the other to the pin/wire your testing it should show open circuit if it shows a reading then you have a short to ground. If you have any suspect areas after your visual inspection then get a second person to watch the meter whilst you pull and push the harness and see if anything changes.
just in case you get the wrong connector I would advise disconnecting the battery. ( mentioned above).Good luck

HOW DO I FIND WHERE THE WIRING HARNESS IS SHORTED OUT

Using a simple ohm meter(multimeter meter set on ohms/resistance.) and the harness disconnected check between
every wire connection for a reading. If you get a reading between any two wires, that is your short, on those two wires. If it, the wire, is grounded instead of shorted, place one lead on a good metal ground and tough the other to each wore connection one at a time. Any meter reading is that is grounded.

Error code p0155 on ford windstar 2002

Hi there:DTC P0155 - 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
This code refers to the front oxygen sensor on Bank 2. The heated circuit in the oxygen sensor decreases time needed to enter closed loop. As the O2 heater reaches operating temperature, the oxygen sensor responds by switching according to oxygen content of the exhaust surrounding it. The ECM tracks how long it takes for the oxygen sensor to begin switching. It the ECM determines (based on coolant temp) that too much time elapsed before the oxygen sensor began operating properly, it will set P0155.
A code P0155 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • O2 Heater element resistance is high
  • Internal short or open in the heater element
  • O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
  • open or short to ground in the wiring harness

Possible Solutions
  • Repair short or open or high resistance in wiring harness or harness connectors
  • Replace oxygen sensor (cannot repair open or short that occurs internally to sensor)

DTC P0141 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2)
This code means that the heated circuit in the oxygen sensor on bank 1 decreases time needed to enter closed loop. As the O2 heater reaches operating temperature, the oxygen sensor responds by switching according to oxygen content of the exhaust surrounding it. The ECM tracks how long it takes for the oxygen sensor to begin switching. It the ECM determines (based on coolant temp) that too much time elapsed before the oxygen sensor began operating properly, it will set P0141. See also: P0135 (Bank 1, Sensor 1).

You will likely notice poor fuel economy the illumination of the Check Engine Light.

Causes: A code P0141 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
open or short to ground in the wiring harness
O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
O2 heater element resistance is high
Internal short or open in the heater element

Note: Typically a failed catalytic converter does not cause this code. You're more likely to see a P0420 code for a failed converter.

Possible Solutions:
Replace oxygen sensor (cannot repair open or short that occurs internally to sensor)
Repair short or open or high resistance in wiring harness or harness connectors
