Where is the fuel filter located on a 1997 Jeep TJ Sport? I've been told that is on the inside of the frame on the driver's side or in the fuel tank itself. Help, please. John

Pretty sure it's not in the tank. It's located along the frame somewhere.

I believe it is located along the inside of the passenger side frame rail.

MOST FUEL FILTERS ARE IN THE FRAME. SOME ARE LOCATED RIGHT BELOW THE DRIVER'S DOOR IN THE FRAME. YOU MIGHT ALSO NEED SPECIAL TOOLS TO REMOVE

Hi,

it IS on the inside of the drivers side rear frame. In between the back wheels and the gas tank. You have to the pressurize your fuel system first unless you want gas every where. Take your fuel pump relay start the jeep until the fuel in the lines get used up. then put your relay back after you disconnect the battery, than take the filter off, put the new one on, and then hook your battery up and start the jeep. it will run odd for a minuet but after it builds the fuel pressure up it will be smooth again.

On the frame rail running under the driver side, between front & rear wheels.

under neith on drivers side inside frame rail in front of the fuel tank.

Your fuel filter is located under vehicle, passenger side, rear of wheelwell, next to fuel tank, mounted in fuel line. Curtorsey: Auto Zone

Has the fuel filters been done?There is an often overlooked filter on the left side chassis frame,near the fuel tank.It may be under pressure so be careful if checking it.Hope this helps

You may have one along frame rail near rear wheel area on drivers side.
