Jeep 3.7 makes hammering vibration under load.

Most prevalent between 2500-3000 rpm. Started after dealer replaced bad coil pack. no odb2 codes. Gets worse if car is driven hard. At low speed the car seems to lope away from stop, not smooth. Kind of like a V8 with a couple of bad cylinders. The car was very smooth before the coil pack went bad.

Make sure the EGR system is working. Sounds like the engine is running lean.

SOURCE: 95 maxima rough idle

The injector could definitely trigger a misfire code, but you also mentioned that you had a mass airflow sensor code , that code code be responsible for te sluggish moment of the vehicle and rpm going up and down. However if you have a misfire onCyl#6 and the coil and the plug is good the ONLY other thing to cause a mis-fire would be the injector. To check the injector get a NOID light, you can get one at almost any auto-parts place. To use unplug injector plug from the bad injector and connect it to NOID light the light should have a steady PULSE/ligt flickering. If light flickers fine then injector is bad and will need to be replaced. If light doesn't flicker or flickers intermittently then you may have a bad wiring to that injector. Check if wiring is good, then you may have a bad cam sensor or sensor gear. Good Luck and contact if you need more help. Thanks for using FIX YA

SOURCE: 1994 Cougar XR7 Engine idling rough and running rough at low and

Not saying this for sure, but I had the same problem, and i have a 1994 xr7 V6 3.8 L , and all u need to do is set the idle down manually because your computer could have seen that the injector was stuck open, and tried to turn up idle to keep up with the amount of fuel being pumped, worth a shot :P

SOURCE: bad vibration engine trans under load

seems your problem is within your clutch, defective part, usually a defective release bearing will cause gear shifter and pedal vibration but not as bad as yours, but by pressing on clutch pedal vibration stops, point to clutch!

SOURCE: 2004 Audi A4 misfire

it is always a good idea to stay with o.e.m parts and yes there is updated parts in the newer coils. and yes the M.A.F will also cause misfire faults but will not make check engine light flash or make car shake and shudder. also check you wire harness going to your coils make sure your ground wires are not cracked. That could be the main culprate. good luck hope this helps

SOURCE: Galant 4G63 Non Turbo 2.0 Litre 1988 ... has bad

sounds like its breaking down, check your ignition system, test your leads, check your plugs, check your ignition coils etc etc etc.

Testimonial: "Proof in the pudding - the engines performance has totally changed with a simple but hidden leak in the intake manifold area ( now sealed ) ."

Why do new spark plug coils go bad ?

coils, it has just one coil pack. with 3 coils integrated.
its not COPs.
there are many DTCs related, and not posted.
did you try new spark plugs, then new wires. and then only last the coil pack? check compression.
is it failing the same cylinder? (the will fail in pairs, if the pack is bad)
the pack runs 2 cylinders at once (in series)
injectors leaking or clogged.
since you didnt show the symptoms, i cant help much.

how.?
1 month or 1 year?, or how many miles?
answer 1
time, heat, vibration, oil contamination. (pressure washing them)
not using the dielectric grease on the boots.
getting water in the wells over and over, causing flash over , and carbon tracking.
what make you think they are bad.???
my guess, is you see P03xx codes and assume the means bad coil.?
post symptoms.
post scan data, and DTCs.

Fuel system control open at 4000 rpm

p0306?
misfire means, low combustion energy on #6
  1. bad spark,
  2. bad injection,
  3. bad compression
there are tests for each one.

i always check compression first. that why i dont spend a fortune
guessing. 30min.,labor , done wide open throttle, 150psi min.

i also heck the fuel pressure doing the SOP leak down test. (fSm)
then the injector balance test at same time.
finds leaking injector and clogged.
got cops?
you could have swapped coil packs COPs to see if that cured mifire.
swap any other with #6
if problem follows the coil pack COPS, then its bad.
my v6 had a 3 coil pack and cant swap just one coil. all 3 or none.

the misfire is real. you can feel it and the PCM measures it.

#3 and #7 misfire codes

Swapping coils between cylinders is a better solution than replacing them. This way if the misfire follows the coil you know the coil is bad. Lack of power under load usually suggest fuel starvation to me. I would change the fuel filter and then road test the car. Also if you had just filled up the tank when the misfires started, maybe you got a bad tank of gas. Sometimes right after a rain water gets churned up and gets into the pump, and consequently your fuel tank.

Misfire under load and check light comes on for a second have taken to Hyundai they said the usual Plugs Leads, Injectors and wanted around $600 to clean Injectors and Throttle body. I replace Plugs and...

Up hills & under a load --could be the EGR Valve
as you have a high vacuum load

The temp goes up on hills & yes the coil packs
could break down. That won't show up in the service
bay the way a dealer tests it.

Not the Throttle Body or Injectors
Sounds good & makes them money
first.
That is what they do,after 3 visits & parting
with your money, then they will work on the misfire
Sad isn't it

Never go to a dealer. Try a local shop

2004 Jetta 1.8T started idling rough at low rpm, OBD says random misfire....

spark plugs? either current ones are bad, or maybe you replaced recently with incorrect ones (most autoparts stores don't have the right plugs for 1.8T...need to go to dealer or ecstuning.com)
-or-
coil packs?
the OBD scan should tell you what cylinder is misfiring. try swapping the coil packs around and see if the misfire moves. if it does, then replace the bad coil pack (might just want to do all 4). if not, trying swapping the plugs around...same idea.

T reg punto 1.2,idles fine, put it under a load and it runs rough. replaced coils, plugs, its as if something is breaking down under load, any ideas please, thanks gary

poss ECU fault ,common on these, but you need to change both coil packs at same time, programing is easy , fit ecu + coil packs run till rad fan cuts in+out 3 times then hold at 3000 rpm for 30 secs.

My 2002 jeep stright or inline 6 cyc just started skipping when ideling or slow rpm could is be plugs or coil pack 130 thousand on it

For coil packs, while running, unplug the harness to one, if it gets worse, move to the next, untill you find the cylinder. Then I swap the coil pack with another cylinder, and try again to verify it's the coil pack, and not something else.

My 2002 Ford Ranger Edge V-6 is misfiring after it warms up when trying to accelerate or under a load, going uphill. The vehicle jerks around 2500 rpm and above 45 mph. It doesn?t **** as bad at higher...

havent a clue here ,one cylinder now another missing ,only one thing comes to mind here and thats the coil pack ,check the voltage across the battery with engine running at 1500rpm and if its higher than 15.5 volts of their abouts then the alternator regulator is playing up and this would cause problems with the coil pack or the ECU ,also the radio could blow and lots of bulbs.Other that this i would need to get my greasy hands on it and give the magic hammer treatment
