The Datsun 1200 car was made by Nissan motor company limited. Why 1200 because it had an engine size of approximately 1200 cc. in Japan it was known as datsun sunny 1200. The car was Nissan chassis code B110. It was sold in Japan from 1970 to 1972, North America in Model years 1971 to 1973, New Zealand to 1974 and south Africa to 1976. This information is from Wikipedia from datsun 1200 club page. Hope this was the information you were looking for
The three holes allow you to slightly advance the valve timing to compensate for stretch in the timing chain over time. If the chain is brand new then obviously you would be using hole number one. And by the time its ready to be replaced you should already be on hole number three. The repair manual should tell you all this though and you should not be doing this kind of work without a manual. For early Datsuns like the 240Z I've always found the Haynes manuals to be very good.
when its off ground the drive shafts etc are hanging and have no pressure on them so the wheels will turn , i think you need to be looking at the drive couplings, transferbox, differential , this may take some sorting out but unless there is a datsun 720 forum your going to have to try trial and error , heres a link to a 720 forum 1982 Datsun 720 King Cab 4x4 4cyl 5speed
