Is there anyway to flat tow my 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT. with no 4 wheel drive?

Hello Poca Buchanan,

WRONG.

Your "rental" FOLKs do NOT know of what they speak.

Your owners manual... Pages 192 & 246 both confirm... that your vehicle can be towed... and the SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCES.

Drive wheels can only be towed in EMERGENCIES...
NOT to exceed 35 miles per hour...
Not to exceed 50 miles...!!

~~
If the drive wheels are off the ground... REGULAR TOWING PRECAUTIONS SHOULD APPLY.

(lets say a rear wheel drive... if the REAR WHEELS are on a carrier... you should be all PEACHES (reverse tow)).

If you cannot limit your distance or speed... and drive wheels are ON-THE GROUND...

Your DRIVE SHAFTS should be removed to protect the transfer case and/or transmission (by an AUTHORIZED FORD TECHNICIAN).

If you require assistance or clarification on Ford Motor Company policies or procedures, please contact the Ford Customer Relationship
Center at 1-800-392-3673 (FORD)

Hope this helps!!

1993 Ford Explorer 5 speed driving it without the clutch slave without the clutch and without the 5 speed gear shifter how to get into 3rd gear

the process involves plenty of hydraulic fluid as well as gears and clutches.
If you have an automatic transmission, and it "slips" while you are driving it-that is, the car engine revs without the power going to the wheels-the most common cause (though not the only possible cause) is low transmission fluid. If the slipping is caused by low fluid, it will get worse as the transmission gets hotter.

When I start to drive my ford explorer the over drive light O/D come on and start to flashing. How I can fix the problem?

he overdrive off light flashing indicates that a problem with your
transmission has been detected. Take it to the dealer or a transmission
shop and get it checked out. If you continue to drive the Explorer with
the O/D OFF light flashing you can possibly damage the transmission.

Ford has issued a TSB on this problem. Has to do with a transmission oil pump defect and repair procedure.
Article No.: 97-22-4
Date: 10/27/97
Transmission - A4LD, 4R44E/4R55E, 5R55E - Torque Converter Slip - Diagnostic Trouble Code (Dtc) 628 Or P0741 Stored In Memory
Ford:
1985 to 1993 Mustang
1987 to 1988 Thunderbird
Lincoln-Mercury:
1988 Cougar
Light Truck:
1985 to 1990 Bronco II
1985 to 1997 Ranger
1987 to 1997 Aerostar
1991 to 1997 Explorer
ISSUE:
Some vehicles may experience excessive torque converter slippage, torque converter not engaging, or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 628 or P0714 stored in memory. This may be caused by damage to the fluid pump support seal and/or to the groove on the pump where the seal is located.
ACTION:
Inspect the fluid pump seal for damage. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1. Follow normal diagnostic procedures as listed in the appropriate Service Manual.
2. Inspect the fluid pump support for damage. If damaged, also inspect the fluid pump support seal groove on the pump.
3. If the groove is damaged, replace the pump.
4. If the groove is not damaged, replace the fluid pump support seal with a redesigned Seal (F77Z-7L323-AA). Refer to Figure 1.
5. Do not replace the torque converter unless it is damaged or fails the criteria listed in the appropriate Service Manual and/or refer to TSB 96-26-12.

Will not change gear until you have done about 2 miles. 1993 ford explorer 4ltr v6 left hand drive ( eddie bouer )

How many miles? Get the transmission serviced. Get the filter changed and get new fluid put in. Ford transmissions arent that great, but try getting the transmission serviced. I got a ford taurus that was said to have a bad trans. I changed the filter and put a new filter in. Voila, a 500 dollar car turned into a 3000 dollar car. : )
