'94 VW Jetta III - clutch ''slipping''

I have a '94 VW Jetta III with a 5-speed manual transmission. A few days ago, we had a high temp of 107 degrees at drivetime. After about 10 minutes of driving, the clutch started grabbing as I went from stop to first, and again from first to second. It has continued since, and also occasionally grabs from second to third. The grabbing is not consistent, and seems less likely if I slip the clutch a little. At the same time, my gas pedal will bounce back and forth slightly a few times. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 2002 VW Jetta 1.9l turbo w/automatic tranny I want to change it to a 5 speed manual transmission. I have a 5 speed transmission from a 2000 Jetta 2.0l. Is it going to fit in my 2002 Jetta?

The electronics in the auto and manual cars are different (and complex)and it is not just a matter of pulling out the auto and installing a manual box and clutch as you would in a car from the 1970s.
You will have numerous problems if you attempt the install like this.
You would need a box from a 2002 model and you would need to change the ECU and wiring harness and numerous other items also from the 2002 model..

My 2000 VW Jetta TDI suddenly lost power on the interstate. It seemed that it took twice the RPMs to keep the same speed. Is this the turbo kicking off? At lower speeds it feels as if it does not change...

Most likely its your transmission slipping You will need to have it checked by a mechanic if the rpm is double then it has nothing to do with the turbo, if it's a automatic it means the clutches are slipping or if it's a standard it means the clutch is slipping from being worn out or the pressure plate is wore out.

My gear shift has a problem going back into 1st gear. The clutch is fine, a friend told me it could be the shift bearing need replacing. What or where could I look at to see the diagram of how the bearings...

Well the is no such thing as a shift bearing associated with a VW Jetta. Alot of VW 020 5 speeds won't let it shift into first gear until you are going under ten miles an hour or so. I don't know if it's a design feature so you won't put it in first at a high speed and over rev the motor, or what for sure. I have a Scirocco 16v and a Jetta GLI 16v, all have the same transmission as the 1993-98 Jetta, they both do the same thing. Does the shifter lever have any "play" in it? There are a few bushings for the shifter and the linkage going to the transmission, that do wear out and will cause it to be hard to shift into gear.

94 Pathfinder, Manual transmission slipping a tiny bit. I want to add Lucas Stop Slip. How do I do this. Theres no Dipstick to check levels of TRANS FLUIDS

Adding Stop slip to a manual transmission with not keep your clutch from slipping. Replace or adjust the clutch.
