Got DTC P1676 or TCS DTC
31? Replace the Ignition
Switch
NOTE: This article applies to '00-02 Accord V6s
and '99-02 Odysseys.
Got a vehicle in your shop with DTC P1676
(FPTDR signal line failure) or TCS DTC 31 (engine
retard command [PFINH] signal)? A bad ignition
switch (the electrical half) could be the culprit.
NOTE: On the HDS, you'll see TCS DTC 31 listed
as TCS DTC 31-2.
Inspect the ignition switch solder joints for any
signs of overheating. If you notice the solder joints
are melted, replace the ignition switch.
C1623 is with in the chassis sensors P1148, P1623, P1676 is in the ECM not on my list of codes not sure what it is. call parts house and they can tell you what it is. PO343 is camshaft position sensor circuit high input. P1148 not sure not on my list of codes they may be in the newer codes list but I don't have an updated list
i don't know about your reader? but a P1676 is a evap vent solenoid control circuit problem. the solenoid could be stuck or the wires/connections could be corroded, open or shorted
Trouble Code Conditions:
Conditions for Setting the DTC.
The ignition is on.
An improper voltage level has been detected on the output circuit which controls the EVAP purge solenoid.
The above conditions are present for at least 30 seconds.
Possible Causes:
Poor connection at the PCM. Inspect harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, and poor terminal to wire connection.
Damaged harness.
Inspect the wiring harness for damage. If the harness appears to be OK, disconnect the PCM, turn the ignition on and observe a voltmeter connected between the EVAP purge solenoid control circuit and ground at the PCM harness connector while moving connectors and wiring harnesses related to the EVAP purge solenoid. A change in voltage will indicate the location of the malfunction.
