This is old car. We rarely ever use the moonroof, we did and it started making cracking glass noises and when it opened the passenger side did not slide at all. The driver side of the roof slid but the passenger side did not move and the window calked sideways. However, it is stuck in the tilt up position and will not close. is there a manual crank to lower it? I believe the passenger cable/belt has broken years ago.

take the door panel off, or if you can just remove the switch panel. When you can see the back of the switch jump the two ends of the switch and see if the window goes up or down. If not then the motor is shot, if it works then the switch is shot.

sunroof is made by tudor webasto in germany/england..you could try dropping the cover to the motor and manually wind it back(car was supplied new with crank handle.....last time i worked on one of these it was a b...h.

When I push on the close button for the sunroof of my 2009 Toyota Camry, it closes and then pops back open if held down longer than just tapping it slowly. If not in exactly the right location, it will then not slide open and closed, thus requiring more tapping to get it in the exact location. Any suggestions??
