SOURCE: fuel filter to tank quick disconnect broken

Here is a quick solution. Go to Napa Auto Parts with your line size. Take the piece you broke off so they can match the line size. They sell pieces that are about 18 inches long so you can splice it in. These pieces range in price from about 16 to 22 dollars. Other parts stores don't carry this fuel line. They will want to sell you the whole line at a cost of hundreds of dollars. Napa will be able to accomodate your request as I know because I get these pieces from them often.
Good luck. Let me know how it goes. Just read the directions on the package. You need to heat the line up to in stall.

SOURCE: i got gas leak coming from the fuel line

First off, what kind of vehicle do you have? I assume it is one that has an electric fuel pump in the gas tank, so that is what my answer will be geared to.
On the gas tank there are several lines. The most important ones for this conversation are the ones that deliver fuel to the engine and the one that returns the excess fuel back to the tank. They are usually different in size.
The larger one delivers the fuel and the smaller one returns the excess fuel back to the tank. Either one may be the culprit in this scenero. The tank is usually connected by a high pressure flexible fuel line to a stainless fuel line resembeling a brake line. At times this flex line may develope a leak for varrious reasons. It could be something rubbing against the line, it could be the crimped connection went bad and is leaking, etc. If it is your flex line, which it probably is there is a repair kit you can purchase to fix it. I have only been able to find this repair kit at NAPA. I've tried many auto parts stores and they are the only ones that carry it. The use of it is very simple actually. You find the leak in your line, which by the way is harder than it sounds and usually involves removing the gas tank. In which case you will need a special tool to disasemble the gas line from the tank. Once the leak is located you cut the line. You then have to place the remaining flex hose in boiling hot water for at least 10 seconds, which makes it soft and insert a splice fiting into it. When the line cools, it will shrink tight on the connector. You the do the same with the hose that came with the repair kit. Then do the same with the other end and install the fitting which connects to the gas tank. You should now be in business.
BTW. I have to do this very thing tomorrow.
Good Luck! and let me know if this helps you.

SOURCE: how to disconnect 2004 cavalier fuel filter quick connect

You can use two small flathead screwdrivers. What you need to do first is the unclip the connection. Once you unclip it, you need to push in on the smaller side of the clip with a regular flat head screwdriver. When you push it in, you also have to try to push the hinged side clip in as well. The hinged side clip needs to be straightened out so the you can pull the filter pipe out. I found the easiest way to do this is to line the two opening up, and while I'm pushing on the smaller side of the clip, stick a small screwdriver on the backside and pry it out. It is a pain to do it without the special tool, it took me about 10-15 minutes to make pry the green "ring" off so that I could pull out the line.

SOURCE: how to install fuel pump in chevy 2003 astro van

Go to the autozone website at autozone.com and register your vehicle. It's free and will give you access to an online repair manual for your vehicle. The procedures for changing the fuel pump should be available there. Sure hope this helped and best wishes.

SOURCE: removing original fuel filter on 96 grand am

if original, don't worry about the black cap and tabs on the non-threaded end of the filter connection. Unfortunately, you have to literally pull the heck out of it to separate it from this connection. What is holding it in is a metal "barbed" collared sleeve inside the connection. Try using a pliers on the cable side (don't bend or break!) and work the filter off using elbow grease. Not fun, but it worked. The FRAM replacement filter simply snapped right in.

Need to change fuel filter on 97 chevy lumina

    Follow the steps care fully

Open the hood and relieve the fuel system pressure. On the fuel rail, right before the first fuel injector, locate the Schrader valve-similar to a tire air valve-on the inlet fuel line. Using a small screwdriver, depress the stem inside the valve while covering the valve with a shop rag to catch the squirt of fuel.

Raise the back of the vehicle using a floor jack and support it safely on jack stands.

Locate the fuel filter along the frame rail-passenger side-of the vehicle, near the fuel tank.

Unplug the quick-connect fuel inlet line on the back of the filter by pressing the lock tabs. Push the connector towards the filter and then pull to disconnect the fuel supply line.

Disconnect the outlet fuel line from the filter-the line going toward the engine-by using a backup wrench to hold the line nut while disconnecting the lock nut on the filter with a tube wrench.

Remove the filter from its mounting bracket and install the new filter in place, making sure the arrow on the side of the filter case points toward the engine.

Install the outlet fuel line. Tight the lock nut finger tight, then hold the fuel line nut with the backup wrench and tight the lock nut with the tube wrench. Make sure not to over tighten the nut to prevent fuel leaks.

Press the fuel supply line fitting against the small tube at the back of the filter until the lock tabs snap in place.

Lower the vehicle, start the engine and check for leaks.

How do you change fuel injectors

    Hello,

For a 2003 it is on the frame rail under the drivers side door. Don't bother taking off the black holster that holds the fuel filter/injector onto the frame rail.
1 )Simply unscrew the nuts on both sides of the fuel filter/injector. It will be under pressure. Wear safety goggles. A couple of cups of fuel will spill.
    2) Look at the fuel line on the engine side. Notice the clip holding in the line. Remove the line from the clip.
    3) Remove the fuel lines from the filter starting with the side toward the engine. This side has more play/laxity in the line.
    4) Slide out the fuel filter/injector from the black holster.
    5) Slide in the new fuel filter/injector with the flow directional arrow pointing toward the engine.
    6) Attach the fuel line to the filter starting with the tank side first. Don't force it and thread out the fittings.
    7) Attach the engine side fuel line. The fitting would come together by hand screwing the male into the female end. I did have to use a wrench to gently start it.

    Take care.

How do you change fuel filter on 6.0 2003 sierra gmc

Fuel filter is normally located along the driver's side frame rail, inboard side between the back to the driver's door and the fuel tank.
It looks kind of like a small tin can with the fuel line attaching at the rear and front of the unit. It may be somewhat rusty or dirty after a few years on the vehicle. I suggest looking for it and once you find it, spray a small amount of penetrating oil on the threads of the fuel line connectors the day before you plan on removing it.
Then, simply turn the line fittings with a tight fitting wrench or line wrench so you don't round the corners off the fittings. The back fitting into the filter turns upward (counter clockwise) and the front turns downward (still counter clockwise) to remove the old one.
There is a plastic band around the filter holding it in against the frame. Unsnap the band and it is removed. Have a rag or paper towel standing by as it may drip a little gasoline. Then dispose of them in your trash can after shaking any fuel out in a safe and proper place.
The fittings do not require sealant as they are compression fittings like. The new filter is marked with an arrow for the direction of fuel flow. If your Fuel line has the quick disconnect for the fuel filter, your going to need to buy the disconnect tool and that can be picked up where your buy the fuel filter and the fitting on the filter will show if your have the quick connect lines.
Thank you for using fixya and be safe.

Fuel filter replacement for 2001 isuzu rodeo

Under vehicle, passenger side, below seating area, front of fuel tank, mounted on frame in fuel line

Fuel filters and elements are serviced by replacement only. Some vehicle manufacturers recommend fuel filter replacement at 30,000 miles (48,000 km). Always replace the fuel filter at the vehicle manufacturer's recommended mileage.
The fuel filter replacement procedure varies depending on the make and year of the vehicle and the type of fuel system. Always follow the filter replacement procedure in the appropriate service manual. The photo sequence below shows a typical procedure for relieving fuel pressure and removing a fuel filter.

    Installing Fuel Filters
In-line fuel filters are installed in the fuel line. In carbureted engines, the in-line gasoline filter is usually installed between the fuel pump and the carburetor. In vehicles with a fuel injection system, the location of the fuel filter is determined by the manufacturer. An arrow on the filter shows the direction of fuel flow.
    • To install a new filter, begin by wiping the male tube ends of the new filter with a clean shop towel.
    • Apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male tube ends on the filter.
    • Check the quick connectors to be sure the large collar on each connector has rotated back to the original position. The springs must be visible on the inside diameter of each quick connector.
    • Then install the filter in the proper direction and leave the mounting bolt slightly loose.
    • Install the outlet connector onto the filter outlet tube and press the connector firmly in place until the spring snaps into position.
    • Grasp the fuel line and try to pull this line from the filter to be sure the quick connector is locked in place.
    • Then, do the same with the inlet connector.
    • Now tighten the filter retaining bolt to the specified torque.
    • Once everything is connected, lower the vehicle, start the engine, and check for fuel leaks at the filter.

    FUEL FILTER

It is located underneath the vehicle on the driver's side on the inside of the frame. You should see the fuel lines running along the inside of the frame leading up to it and then from the other side of the filter to the engine. It will look like a small metal canister. I believe you have to have a special tool to disconnect from the fuel lines (you can get it at Autozone etc for a couple of bucks)
