Cleaned fuel injectors, checked mass air and o2 sensors. Fuel injectors are balanced

There are a number of things that can cause this DTC (clogged Fuel Injectors, faulty oxygen sensor, ignition problem, fuel injection problem,
engine mechanical condition, a vacuum leak, etc.). There is even a service bulletin out about this https://www.autocodes.com/pdfview.php?pd... Calculated values for this Fuel Trim Cylinder Balance diagnostic are often a problem because of the large number of sensor variables used in the calculation. My only suggestion is to throw the problem to a dealer and see if they can sort this out.

SOURCE: P0171 Code (Lean Fuel Bank 1) Engine light on

PO 171 indicates a lean condition in bank 1 or the same side of the engine as the first cylinder , usually it is caused by a vacuum leak some where check to make sure that even the smallest of vacuum hoses are in good condition and not leaking

SOURCE: 98 chevy suburban, code reads mass air flow sensor

Check the wire leads and clean them before reconnecting the wire leads. It wouldn't hurt also to clean the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner, the code your getting is most common to the high performance oil base filters like K&N.

Good luck and this should help you resolve your MAF issues. Thank you for using Fixya

SOURCE: 2001 Chevy Impala 3.8L. P0171 lean fuel code. We

DTC P0171 - System Too Lean (Bank 1)
Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 1 detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 1 is the side of the engine that has cylinder #1.

Note: This DTC is very similar to P0174, and in fact your vehicle may show both codes at the same time.

According woth your previous tasks, inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary.

2008 Chevy Kodiak c4500 duramax desiel code reader (Innova 3100 Can OBD2) shows P0102, what does it mean

P0102 Chevrolet - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input

Read more: http://engine-codes.com/p0102_chevrolet.html#ixzz38p5k1ZD8

Possible causes - Faulty mass air flow sensor
- Intake air leaks
- Dirty mass air flow sensor
- Dirty mass air filter
- Mass air flow sensor harness is open or shorted
- Mass air flow sensor circuit poor electrical connection

Before replacing the mass air flow sensor, try replacing the air filter and cleaning the air flow sensor with low compress air or mass air flow sensor cleaner. Reset code and drive vehicle. If the code comes back, it may be necessary to replaced the mass air flow sensor.

Where are the O2 sensors? I found one directly behing the spark plugs on the back.

The O2 sensor (2 on V engines) are in the exhaust system pipes before the catalytic converter, the next sensor is the efficiency monitor for the catalytic converter system it looks like a O2 sensor but performs a much different function as far as testing goes. The codes you have follow.

P0420 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1
What does this mean? In most cases it means the catalytic converter is worn out and that is sensed by the catalyst monitor I spoke of earlier.

P0102 - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input
Faulty mass air flow sensor
- Dirty mass air flow sensor (located in the air intake hose to the engine from the air cleaner)
- Dirty air filter
- Mass air flow sensor harness is open or shorted
- Mass air flow sensor electrical circuit poor connection
- Intake air leaks

2001 Chevy ss Camaro throwing codes 171 & 174 what is it?

These codes ( Cylinder banks one and two lean) indicate that your engine is running lean, that is to say to much air and not enough fuel, since both cylinder banks are giving the same system lean code you do have a problem with fuel mixture control and not the O2 sensors, look for engine vacuum leaks like hoses, spray around the intake manifold with propane to see if the engine sounds different, when you find a leak it will change the idle speed, you can also have a detective Mass Airflow sensor or loose hose clamps on the engines air intake hose after the MAF sensor. causing this if no vacuum leaks are found

Suburban runs lean with K&N air filter

Check for vacuum leaks, especially around the intake manifold gasket. You can do this by running the engine and spraying intake cleaner around the gasket. Any vacuum leak will **** in the intake cleaner and cause the idle to change.

It could also be a dirty Mass Air Flow sensor, faulty oxygen sensor on bank 2, plugged catalytic converter, or plugged or faulty fuel injectors - thus, it would never hurt trying the sea foam.

Also ensure the filter is not over-oiled

Code 171 and engine light is on

--BANK 1 = DTCs P0171 (lean) and P0172 (rich)

-Check intake air system for leaks, obstructions and damage.
-Check air cleaner element, air cleaner housing for blockage.
-Verify integrity of the PCV system.
-Check for vacuum leaks.

I would try cleaning the Mass Airflow Sensor first. A dirty Mass Airflow Sensor is a common problem for triggering PO 171 & 174 codes.

Good luck and keep me posted.

My code reader is showing a code of 171 O2 sensor bank one

Po171 is a lean condition on bank one ( only one) o2 sensor in front of the catalytic converter. Could be a mass air also could be a vacuum leak. or a bad o2 so dont jump to expersive parts unless you have another car to swap stuff around
