Check the fuss, if burnt through then replace.
Hi I would first check the fuses.
Did you check the dash fuse block? fuse #12?
also maybe the brake fuse.
I replaced fuse 12 and that did the trick! Or so I thought. I started it the next morning and same thing. No brake lights or turn signals. Any other suggestions?
the only thing to do at this point is take it to a shop so they can run down where the short is. could be just a bad brake switch. Not a big problem for the shop. ie $$$
get a rough estimate from them.
best to you.
or a hazard flasher switch, turn signal switch.

If dash indicator lights turn on but don't flash, it's a bad relay. If they don't turn on at all, blown fuse. If only front ones work, bad ground wire or disconnected wire to the rear ones
Check to see if turn signal flasher and Hazard flasher are all in one if so try replacing flasher
Usually it is a fuse

The 2 fuses are no 10 (7.5amp) and no 21(15amp) in the interior fuse panel. The flasher is located on the base of steering column under dash. See this this pic find connector c214 on bottom 3rd from right.

The flashers are located behind the instrument panel trim, roughly between the base of the steering wheel and the ashtray, just to the left of the car lighter. To access the flashers, you need to at least loosen the lower instrument panel trim. Just under the steering column there are two screws with star heads. One to the left of the column and one to the right. You need to remove both of these screws. You will need to remove your ashtray. On the upper left corner of the hole left by removing the ashtray is a 9/32 hex head screw. You need to remove it. Once these three screws are removed you should be able to pull down on this portion of trim under your instrument cluster. When you do this it may cause trim around your instrument cluster to loosen that you can just pop back into place with your hand. You won't need to pull down to far on this trim piece as there are still some screws holding the bottom. You should be able to pull it down far enough to see the flasher units behind and just to the left of the cigarette lighter. There are two flasher units and I found that the one on the right is for the turn signals. On the left the other is for the hazard flashers. It may be a hand scraping experience to replace the flasher but it beats paying someone to do it for you. They are easy to recognize because the are silver and round metallic plug ins. The flasher unit on the left is for the emergency flashers and the one on the right is for turn signals. You can place the emergency flasher unit into the slot the turn signal unit belongs until you get a replacement. These flasher units are pretty cheap.

On 95-97 and 1998, both the turn signal and hazard flashers are located behind the lower dashboard trim just to the left of the cigarette lighter. You can not get to it without taking apart the trim (stupid design). Or you have to drill a 2" diameter hole in the trim with a velcro cover so you would never have to do it again1999 and later it is under the glove compartment
to disassemble it without drilling
It's behind the panel to the left of the cigarrette lighter. You need a Torx 25 screwdriver and another screwdriver for those hex shaped screws, forgot the size. First unscrew the 2 Torx 25 screws beneath the steering wheel. Then unscrew the rest of those Hex screws on the bottom. The panels overlap, so be prepared for a lot of unscrewing. You do need to unscrew the middle black panel on the bottom, right beneath the cig lighter. It's held by two Hex shaped screws, one on each side and are hard to unscrew. Also you need to remove your spare change sliding tray to unscrew the last hex looking screw. Once you pop your panel off, the turn signal flasher is the right one. The Hazard flasher is the left one. You can find a replacement part at Autozone, and DON'T get the $184 Flasher switch, all you need is the signal flasher. It's shaped like a cylinder with TWO prongs on it.
