My wife has a 2000 Saturn LS1 with a 2.2 liter engine.
Recently, the battery went dead. I charged the battery and reinstalled it. The car starts fine, but I have a lite in the shape of a battery lighting up on my dashboard. I went to the local parts store, they checked the battery and the charging system and claim that both are ok.
What does the light indicate? What else should I look at?
Thanks for any help!

the light is across one diode in the rectifier pack in the alternator, usually there are 9 of them, one of yours has failed, probably the failed diode is leaking current and draining the battery. In this instance the battery will be good (if drained) and the other 8 diodes will show a good charge.Get the current drain checked with everything switched off
