I have a 1994 Jeep Wrangler. I have the heater in the off position and the temp set to the coolest setting but I am still getting hot air blowing out the defrost vert at the windshield and down at my feet. Any ideas?
Sounds like the blend door that diverts air flow inside the heater box is not working, or, the heater control valve on the heater hoses in the engine bay is not closing.
Heater box is one item that most techs make bad faces when asked to do one. (the engineers really got to this one...used to be a "not terrible" job.. If you have limited ability and the heater control valve is good, likely you are better off either having a shop do the repair or, disconnect the heater hoses between the control valve and the firewall at the valve and just put a bypass hose from the valve, back into the valve. (re-connect when it gets cold out) Don't try to disconnect at firewall...you can break the extensions on the heater core.
Great...don't forget to rate my answers...lately people have been leaving without doing that!!!
Good luck with it. You can find R&R for heater box in either chiltons or haynes if you decide to take it apart.

How do I get to the heater box? is this an easy fix? I am not good with cars.
Okay thank you for the info. My dad is good with cars so I'll have him take a look at it. I just needed an idea of where to start.
