I would disconnect the battery minus - cable first, ensure the airbag connectors are the same ! otherwise I do not think you have a problem !!

If you still had your old seat you could have used all the brackets off that one and just used the new seat all the brackets will unbolt from the seat..

If you replaced the airbags, it might be that the code just needs to be turned off. I had the same thing with mine, sometimes the code is not turned off after replacement.

How do I remove the front seats of a 2008 Kia Sorento

Unhook both battery cables and short them together to discharge the capacitor that fires the air bag. Then you need to get in the passenger compartment and look under the seats for any connections that attach to the seat. Disconnect these. You then need to use tools to remove the bolts that hold the seat frames to the body and remove the seats. If you put in different seats or don't have the same connections as the old ones, you will have SRS errors on the BCM and the airbags and tensioners wont work. When you are done reconnect the battery cables,

Replacing severe

Check connections under passenger seat.
The SRSCM sets DTC B1322 if
there is any fault in Weight Classification System.

In contrast to the initial
one-stage airbag systems, newer restraint systems involve complex logic to
select, or alternatively suppress, various levels of safety system deployment.

Inherent to an advanced
Restraint System is the ability to discern information regarding passenger
occupancy.

It is intended that these
inputs be provided through the weight measuring OC system.

The object of such safety
system is to reduce the risk and level of injuries by automatically adapting the
airbag(s) and seat belt pretensioner to the driving status of the vehicle, its
occupants, and the crash severity.

The current OC system covered
in this specification continually senses and classifies the front passenger side
seat.

OCS is utilizing a robust
weight measuring technology. Thus, if any of the following conditions occur,
'command zero' and 'accuracy check' should be performed

The weight classification ECU
or any of the sensors is replaced.

The vehicle is brought to the
repair shop due to an accident or a crash even though the severity seems to be
minor.

The passenger airbag ON
indicator is off (not illuminated) when the passenger seat is not
occupied.

The passenger airbag ON
indicator is delayed more than 10 seconds before turning off when an adult
passenger is seated in the right front seat.

The passenger seat is removed
from the vehicle and re-assembled.

Any accessories (side table,
seatback table and seat cover, etc) are replaced or installed.

I have a 2005 ford crown victoria P71 ( interceptor). It has cruise but dosent work. I just bought it from the county. It was a active patrol car that was up for replacement (so its in excellent mechanical...

I also have that same vehicle but, I'm sorry to say it does not have cruise. I also have a wiring issue. I replaced the interior (seats, carpet, door panels, and a few dash moldings) with duel power seats, however I through out the old seats before I noted the "wiring colors" for the passenger seat 'seatbelt' and 'airbag' sensor connections. The new seats came out of a 2003 crown vic (not a p71) and had totally different connections under the passenger seat. My '05 p71 did not even have the wires there for a power passenger seat, so I had to replace and wire them in from the harness that I removed from donor car. That actually wasn't TOO bad, and the seats work fine, but I don't know which wires go together for the seatbelt and airbag sensors, as the old wire 'colors' under the seat do not match the 'colors' on the connectors under the new power passenger seat. If you could tell me the colors of the wires to your original seat (passenger), for the seatbelt and airbag plugs you would be a great help in solving my issue with the "airbag" and "seatbelt" light that stays lit on the dash. SRS light remains on after starting (engine) Why?

When the airbag light (SRS) is on or blinks it means a fault has occurred in the system and the airbag diagnostic monitor has disabled the system, the most common problem that turns the light on is a break in the connection to the steering wheel mounted airbag, this is due to a rotating ribbon contact that breaks under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the wiring harness and the diagnostic monitor, the part is called the clock spring contact, a coiled up ribbon electrical contact that turns with the steering wheel while maintaining a mechanical connection to the airgag mounted on the steering wheel, to replace this part you must disarm the airbag system and remove the steering wheel, this requires a special steering wheel puller tool and that you disarm the airbag system before you start the work, to do this disconnect the battery negative cable for 1 hour prior.

If you look under the front seats you will find electical plugs.Make sure they are clean and connected.Disconnect the plugs with the baerry earth wire disconected.clean and replace,then reconnect baterry wire

AIR BAG LIGHT AND CHIME RINGS PERIODICALLY

I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee Limited and Had similar problem. Found out that a wire/connection harness had gotten cut under PASSENGER seat.from seats moving back and forth. It's part of the airbag system, it tells airbag system if seatbelt is fastened and if occupant is in seat. Since the wire is broken, it can't report back to air back system and activates the light. try this, hope it helps.

You will have to get the airbag code read to be sure but I have had to replace the clockspring in my steering wheel and also the airbag wiring harness under the passenger seat on my 2002 Lincoln LS, all in less than one year. If you or someone you know can help you remove the seat you can do the wiring harness yourself, it is a simple clip.

I repair my Equinox 2007 under seat after that the passenger airbag is shown OFF ?? I havnt seen any problem before under seat repairing .

HIYA!
All Equinoxes has yellow coloured wire harness to identify this as a air-bag system.
This yellow coloured wire 'system network' has connections in some areas...one is located at the front passenger's floor area close to the door (right-side corner area, just remove screw or clip and plastic trim part to gain access to see yellow wire there-it has socket plug connected with red clip-string to secure it) and another yellow wire is found between the front seats-you need to remove armrest, center console area and possible remove the front passenger seat to see yellow wire connect to black device underneath carpet in the middle.
Check to ensure the yellow wire sockets are plugged in properly, and not accidently cut or pulled off during your underseat repair.
In case your Equinox has roof side air-bag option, the yellow wire/sensor are located below the front seatbelt device inside the lower pillar frame area. (it's between the doors)
