Heater doesn't come on how to replace heater coil 1991 g 20 van?
You can look online for help but if you are willing to do it yourself then i suggest buying a repair manual from your local parts store. It should have step by step guide. Its nice to have a physical copy instead of looking on your phone each step. Im not sure about a van but a 91 chevy pickup it is quite a job to change the heater core. Definitely read up on the entire procedure before starting. Took me about 7 hours to change one on a pickup that year. Dont get in a hurry on it. Take your time and try not to damage any plastic parts. Get a magnetic screw tray if you dont already have one. It will keep them from rolling around on the floor.

Here a are the instuctions to remove it. I did not know if you have A/C or not so I included both for you.

CAUTION
When draining engine coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze and could drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is several years old.

ther is a small fuse in the switch itself so i would try to replace this if you get movement when connected to battery directly. if not try to check connections directly behind it to make sure you have voltage with a tester or a wire and a bulb if needs be.

the problem is probably the heater core, it can become clogged with dribris. this stops heat from the engine getting to it and then no heat.

May have too much antifreeze, get an antifreeze tester, you may need to add straight water or your heater core is going out also could have wrong thermostat installed if your themostat is over 200 it may not be opening or too low it may always be open thus the water never heats up, check to see if the fan always runs. or never or sometimes runs.
