2008 15ls aveo abs pump runs continuously. - 2008 Chevrolet Aveo

Pull the ABS fuse.

Most likely the ABS module is bad. Replaced many. Just a few times is was the ground for the pump.

When a pump code comes on for the abs it is usually associated with the module connected to the pump. Most of the time either the relay controlling power to the pump loses it's continuity on the board or the connector builds corrosion and resistance in the terminals. Most of the time depending on the make and model an the exact code it can be remedied by purchasing a new or used abs module/ pump, repairing the old module/ pump, or just replacing with a new module/ abs pump(most expensive option). It is very common for abs relay/ pump codes to appear and end up relating to the power or ground circuit going to open( breaking continuity it frying a connection form resistance)

there is a malfunction on the abs system. Kindly run a scan on the abs, that will guide you on how to resolve the problem.

Most likely one of your ABS Sensor is faulty which return a false value on the system and leads the activation of ABS by itself that is mainly wrong. Better have someone to scan the system. But for me its the ABS Sensor, worst case is the ABS reluctor ring having a crack (hope its not the ring, this will cost a lot).

Ok many people have this problem when they do brakes that ABS equiped. First of all make sure that all your connection are tight at the calipers. Check and make sure you have no visible leaks at all every where on the vehicle. Second alot of people do not know that the vehicle must be running when you bleed the brakes when the vehicle has ABS brakes. So the solution to your problem is very simple check to make sure master cylinder is full, then start your vehicle and have some one pump the brakes then hold down and open bleeder valve. You need to do this several times with ABS brakes,make sure you continue to check master cylinder fluid level continuously. Always start bleeding the brake that is farthest away from master cylinder first then continue to work your way to the closesest. Remeber when bleeding brakes when equiped with ABS the vehicle must be running to allow the ABS pump to run and bleed as well.

you need to have the abs computer scanned for trouble codes . i think that auto zone or advanced auto will scan it for free

If the ABS pump continues to run, the most common cause is a leak in the hydraulic control unit. The pump may continue to run in order to to try to maintain operating pressure. Also a malfunction in the pump, stuck valves and devective accumulators are possible causes. A shorted pressure switch may also cause this condition.

ok u can run it but auto zone or advance tell them ur abs light is on and they can reset it with out the cost

after you took the fuse out and it stopped did you put the fuse back in and see if it continued to run?
