06 ford Fusion S 2.3 l my car has 2 I believe to be selinoids at the top front of motor. There is 1 actuator in a tough spot. P2004 code .The selinoid was replaced a few years ago. Bank 1a but it is actually the actuator. Parts Geek has a nice selection of parts.
On a 2006 Ford Fusion with the 4 cylinder, there will only be one IMRC actuator. The V6 model has two. There is a solenoid and an actuator. You should check both of these for proper operation. The solenoid should click when it receives power and ground, and it controls vacuum to the actuator. The actuator should move when you apply or remove vacuum.
Also, when testing the actuator, it often takes more vacuum than you can produce with your mouth, so that is not an accurate test.

what engine? So the guy running the test could'nt point it out to you? You need to find a shop that qualified to repair the car. its a valve on the intake manifold that opens and closes to help th engine produce the most power at low and high rpm. they get stuck. sometimes you can clean them.

There is a heater core bypass pipe that runs from the block (under the manifold) to the bacl of theengine where you will see a flat rectangular "sheet metal" thing with a pipe coming out of it. The a rubber hose connects. You need to pull the top air plenums and intake to get to it. The p[ipe flange bolts to the block with silicone rtv as a sealant.
