The alarm on my Volvo 2002 s80 keeps getting triggered for no reason. A few times now I have come out to the lights flashing with no audible alarm. I key in and check it; "the car alarm triggered check car" message is displayed. I walk away and within minutes it is doing it again. when I am keeping the door unlocked, there is no problem

Have the codes read out for the vehicle. It is likely that the siren for the alarm is causing the false alarm. If the siren is bad, there will be a code set in the central electrical module. (CEM)

try pulling your negative terminal lose from the battery for a few minutes and allow the system to zero out then try it if tht don't work then visit your local honda dealership

My 2000 Beetle does same thing (although not all the time). Just found an internet post that suggests there is a problem in the door lock sensor. I assume you are using a regular key - not
the keyless entry - like I am. He also said that you can disable the alarm (also disables the
keyless entry - which doesn't bother me) by leaving the front door AND the rear trunk open and
starting the car up. Seems to work so far. I will get the door lock sensor replaced and turn the
alarm system back on (not sure how yet), and let you know if that stops the problem.
