The back light on the radio is probably bad and sounds like there is an issue with your ABS system. When the light is lit your ABS is disabled. Does not mean that your brakes will not work, it means that your anti-lock brakes will not work.
The ABS works according to what the speed sensor tells it. The sensor may be bad or it senses a broken tooth on the tone wheel (the sensor reads these teeth on the tone wheel, found in the hub).
You will still have Brakes, but not the ABS. You can switch the sensors from the good side to the bad to see if it is in fact the sensor itself. Good luck!
well this is a sensor problem. just cause you didnt get a fault code dome mean that the sensors are ok. Remove the abs Fuse from the fuse box under the hood. Drive the car and get a feel for the braking. Replace the fuse and drive again, you will notice one or more of the wheels dont hold as it fast or faster than the rest. Replace that sensor.
Try unhooking your negative battery cable for about a minute. And the re-inslalling it. If that doesn't reset it , it was probably just a coincidence that the battery amd the speed sensor went bad at the same time.
the light will go off by itself as soon as the problem that turned it on is no longer present, it resets everytime you turn the key off and goes through a self test when you drive the car again, if the problem is still there it turns the light back on. Have the ABS system tested for trouble code's
