Those have an issue with r/r abs sensor. pass side rear abs sensor that is. Nissan has tech service bulletin for this to take brakes off and backing plate and clean of all corrosion build up on the rear spindle and replace abs sensor. your car sees signal from that sensor and puts it in "fail safe" mode and that's when you loose power. i had 2004 maxima and it did the same thing until I did the procedure. I didn't replace sensor and it was fine.

SOURCE: why did my VDC, slip, ABS and brake lights come on

Hi there,

You should first of all check the fuse for the abs under the hood. If that is ok, then get ready to fork out a couple of thousand dollars to fix it. It is probably the abs actuator, due to a speed sensor malfunction. Both will need to be replaced. Don't bother calling Nissan, they will not help with this issue.

Having a problem on a 2005 Nissan Maxima, car bangs when shifting gears, and when the car is heated up revs go crazy and sometimes the car turns off itself. Any solutions for this please?

Yes, you need a technician with a professional grade scan tool computer, to do a full scan. It will tell you where all the issues are. It sounds like bad sensors.

Why did my vdc light come on

VDC this is vehicle dynamic control, It works with the ABS (anti lock brakes) steering angle sensor and Yaw rate sensor. When this light comes on. it is due to a check engine light that has detected a problem with the powertrain,or a ABS fault code,To find the reason a enhance scan tool that communicates with you car is needed

Sometimes when i take off fast a slip light comes on does that mean my transmission is slipping?

I found your answer here:

Why Does the SLIP Light Come on?
The SLIP light represents the vehicle's traction control program. When illumiated it takes over control of throttle and braking based on input from a myriad of sensors. The VDC (traction control) is initiated by wheel slip, yaw and any other factors that make the computer think you're on the verge of loosing control of the vehicle. There have been a lot of complaints about the G35's VDC being too interferring and actually causing harder driving conditions. The VDC can be turned off via a switch to the lower left of the steering wheel (useful if trying to pull out of a snowy spot when wheel spin is necessary, or "spirited" accelerating). Even with the VDC turned off, however, it will still kick in if it detects substantial loss of control. NOTE: if you plan on racing, turn the VDC off. Otherwise it will ****** the throttle when you chirp the wheels from 1st to 2nd gear.

Continue 2 car wont drive

than yes have your transmission checked. it sounds like maybe the gears have melted togher not allowing it to go into any other gear and that when the transmission heats up it is popping or slipping out of gear.

Power loss at 80mph

Fuel problem or the ECM and or chip has a 80mph limiter. Or your really winding out the engine, in which case, by the time you read this it will be too late.
