We have a 2011 Chery J1 and the ABS light and brake light are constantly on. Has been checked by mechanic. Brakes all good. Happened after a garage changed tyre. Can the computer be reset

Get a second opinion as you are dealing with brakes here.
Things to get check/get checked
Brake fluid does it need topped up.
Fuses covering these systems are there any blown.
Brake pads are they worn or are the sensors damaged.
ABS sensors are they damaged.
Handbrake cable to front wheels worn or stretched.
Handbrake sensor faulty.
Again if it's brakes get these things checked out sounds like a faulty abs sensor but best get the rest checked to be on the safe side.

It can be issue with master cylinder or the problem is there is still some air there in the system,that has to be bleed.Or else the parts replaced are not aligned properly/.I suggest everything back.

HAVE CAR ABS BRAKES CODE SCAN.BECAUSE WHEN ABS LIGHT IS ON.YOUR CAR ABS BRAKES NOT WORKING.CHECK ABS BRAKES FUSE AND RELAYS.IF ALL IS GOOD.HAVE DEALERSHIP OR GARAGE CHECK ABS BRAKE SYSTEM BECAUSE ABS BRAKE UNIT IS PART OF THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER IF KEEP DRIVING COULD END UP WITH BRAKE FAILURE.CAR NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WHEN ABS OR ANY WARNING BRAKE LIGHT APPEARS.

CHECK ALTERNATOR OUTPUT IT SHOULD BE 13.5 TO 14.5 VOLTS WITH ENGINE RUNNING.IF VOLTAGE LOWER 12 VOLTS THAT WILL CAUSE BRAKE AND ANTI LOCK BRAKE LIGHTS TO COME ON BECAUSE THAT NOT ENOUGH POWER FOR ABS BRAKES OPERATION.IF ALTERNATOR GOOD.BRAKE AND ABS LIGHTS ON ALSO MEANS LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL.ALSO. hi abs light indicating you have sensor down on brakes or master cilinder is on its way out,try checking sensor will need to go to a back street garage cheaper

if it help, having the abs light on in your vehicle just means that the abs system has a fault. normaly the abs sensor on one of the wheels are abd in 85% of all vehicles. if you are worried about driving the car, no worries, it is still safe to drive and you will NOT lose your brakes. your brakes are manual and the abs is electrical. i would say take your car to a dealership and have them rub a diagnostic test on your abs. they will be able to help you more then a regular garage will. most dont have the ability to check abs systems

Hello,
It sounds like the wheel speed sensor may have been damaged in the process of removing the tire. That would cause the abs light to come on. Ususaly when the abs light comes on it is a sign they won't opperate as abs but only as standard hydraulic brakes. I hope this helps. There is no ABS brake light. Take the vehicle back to whatever service center/garage did the brake work and tell them to fix it.
