Removing the EGR function from a vehicle typically requires installing an EGR block off plate in place of the EGR valve. Do you have such a plate available?
Question one... What kinda vehicle do y'all have 2.) when the mechanic told ya it was a MAF sensor did he use a computer to tell you this by reading the codes? 3.) after Installing the other MAF sensor did you reset the vehicles computer. I have came across a few vehicles that even after the new part was installed the on board computer will still read in something "like" a safe mode and will not automatically reset itself. Hope this general info helps
I guess hummers aren't what they used to be. If this truck went into the ocean, I would suggest getting rid of it as fast as you can. Salt water damage will keep getting you year after year, even when you think it's all smoothed out. Salt gets into every sensor and every nook and cranny, and there's no way to get rid of it all. Are you talking about the transmission? You say gear box, but that could mean rear ends too. If you're taking the transmission out, you will have lots of damage inside from the salt water. . It may be easier to check the transmission while it's still in the vehicle. They can read the computer codes to begin with. Good luck with that , and I suggest selling it ASAP, or you will have problems for the life of the vehicle. I live in Nova Scotia and we have a salt mine here. When they bring machines and vehicles underground and use them in the mine, they can never be brought to the surface again. They would start to corrode to nothing as soon as surface. Salt is a car killer here. Good luck
I don't know what type of vehicle you have but just about everything made today has the fuel pump inside the gas tank. and you might want to replace the complete unit fuel gauge sender and pump all at once .
Do NOT purchase this vehicle. Do a search and you will find the teansmissions are BAD! Mine just went and I see it's commen problem and Ford is of no help if your warranty has expired, as it would have by now.
yes oil consumption is known between oil changes so keep an eye on checking it once a month, cuz a healthy and happy motor uses some oil! dont worry its normal in every vehicle.
if you want to know what your vehicle is worth you can go to www.nada.com or www.kbb.com and these sites will give you the value of the vehicle and they are free to use. and they are the same sites the banks use to determin loans
hope this helps you decide

Came upon your post today, 12-6. You might want to check out Recaro seats (racing seats). I also had back problems and installed one in my car. They are listed on the internet @ $219 each, but u should try one out to make sure it's comfortable. I had mine over 20 years ago (long gone now!) it was very firm, u might say 'hard'. Don't know if it would be good for u, it helped me. Let me know if u need more info.
