Buick Rendezvous 2004 Does not shift to low when you come to a stop stays in high gear when starting from stop. This causes a very slow acceleration.

Shifting manual over rides the shift solenoids. Have the codes read. I would recommend that both shift solenoids, the epc solenoid and the boost valve be replaced. $800+ at a garage. That's only if the transmission doesn't slip in any gear.

First off , did you check fluid level ? any lights lit on the instrument cluster, check engine ? How many miles on It ? Ever change the fluid an filter ? can you manually shift through the gears.

There are very high chances of your transmission fluid emptying out or being very low. you should get that checked. I went through something similar and by the time i took my car to the garage to get transmission oil changed my transmission system was badly damaged.

its a possibility that the shift cable is bad going to transmission. check it out!

Start with replacing the fuel filter. When they clog up they will keep pressure but not flow.

Try putting the transmission in low or 1st gear manually shift it down and try taking off as you accelerate shift it manually to 2 then drive. Did it take off like it should when you put it into low and then shift up or did you feel more power when it was in low if so it sounds like the transmission is not going into low gear but taking off in maybe second gear or even drive. When it takes off in any other gear but low it will start slow and sluggish and as you begain to gain speed it will start feel normal but thats because the speed matches the gear you in at that point.If my assistance was helpful please take the time to rate my assistance thank you.

after my 2003 chrysler concorde is warm I slow down from the hwy and right before I stop my car shifts to LOW gear and stays there until I turn my car off and start it.
