SOURCE: 2004 Saturn Vue Brakes

The vibration is caused by the rotors being warped. Remove the front tires and check the front brake pads. Replace if needed. This is a pretty straight forward job. The rotors are "fall off" rotors and you won't need anything special tool wise.

SOURCE: Handbrake Adjustment

HERE IS A SIMPLE RULE FOR ALL HAND BRAKES, THE ADJUSTMENT IS CORRECT WHEN THE WHEN YOU FEEL WHEELS START TO DRAG AFTER THE HAND BRAKE CLICKS 3 TIMES, IF THE BRAKE DOES NOT START TO DRAG ON THE WHEELS ON THE 3RD CLICK THEN CHECK THE CABLE FOR POSSIBLE BINDING DUE TO INTERNAL CORROSION, ALSO CHECK THE BRAKE PADS FOR GLAZING, IF THEY ARE SHINY USE 80 GRIT EMORY CLOTH AND ROUGH THEM UP, MAKE SURE ALL PARTS ARE WELL LUBED WITH WHITE LITHIUM GREASE.

SOURCE: i have a 2004 saturn vue when i apply the brakes my abs comes on

It sounds like one of your wheel sensors isn't working, and the ABS is thinking that one wheel is locked up, so it's activating ABS.

SOURCE: 2004 saturn vue awd HELP!!

The RDM or Rear Differential Module on these GM vehicles (Vue, Torrent, Equinox) is a known weak point. It is most likely shot as the trans outputs power to the front and rear equally; gearotor pump(s) in the RDM then assign traction to each rear wheel if the wheel is turning slower than the input. So if it is still turning it must not be transmitting that torque to either "braked" rear wheel... There was a recall for the RDM in which GM quietly increased the slippage at which it engauged the rear wheels due to high failure rates...

Brake lights come on and go off when they want to

Hello: Make sure the floor mat or anything else is no touching the brake pedal, if nothing touching the you may have a brake light switch that is unremittingly failing, loose, and/or out of adjustment. Switch is mounted on/near the brake pedal. Next time it occurs wiggle the pedal with your hand. If it goes out it may help you diagnose the problem.

Loose emergency brake on 2004 Saturn Vue

  1. Apply and fully release the park brake several times. Verify that the park brake lever releases completely.
  2. Turn ON the ignition. Verify the red BRAKE warning lamp is not illuminated.
  3. If the red BRAKE warning lamp is illuminated, verify the following:
    • The park brake lever is in the fully released position and against the stop.
    • There is no slack in the park brake cable.
  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disable the SIR system.
  3. Remove the front floor console.
  4. With the park brake lever in the released position, using ONLY hand tools, loosen the adjusting nut completely to the end of the front cable threaded rod.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle.
  6. Remove the rear tire and wheel assemblies.
  7. Adjust the rear drum brakes.

  10. Lower the vehicle to permit access to the park brake lever.
  11. Raise the park brake lever 1 detent position. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
