1-2-4-3 from crank end to rear of the block. Looking directly down at the top of the distributor with it in front of you and moving counter clockwise, the right hand tower closest to you is #1, the tower to your left is #2, the tower to the upper left closest to the block is #4 and the remaining tower is #3. firing order should be etched on manifold for cars prodiced by general motors it should go like this if u are looking at front of motor 1 2

7 8 its the same for 6 cyclinders follow wire from number 1 cyclinder to distrubutor to find out which wire is 1 on the distributor for TDC Top Dead Center pull spark plug from the 1 cyclinder get a wire hanger un fold stick it in the engine block then turn the crank pully until 1 piston is at top of cyclinder use hanger to measure be careful not to bend any valves
