Egr not working 97 geo metro lsi
H3LL most of those old 90s car it does not work now.
(ive cured many) (some take 5hours hard labor De-carbonizing the thing)
how do you know that,?
guess:
1 P0400 DTC errors?
2 pinging?
3 fails smog?,,.
is it too hard to tell the story>?
This is Suzuki swift if you had not notices
open hood lookup see that sticker, says SUZUKI
clear as day, and means parts more easy to find.
In the USA we got G engines. G10,G13 top sizes
all suzuki's this era
have horrible Rube Goldberg EGR
vacuum and cat backpressure, magic, err horrors
test 1.
find the EGR main,
see rear and the skeleton-ized frame?
hot engine, we use vacuum tool on its nipplefitting
and it stalls the engine or near, 800 goes to 400. rpm.
that means the 5hour labor part is ok.
leaving vacuum parts or electric VSV
if the diaphram fails to move the valve is bad.
if it moves fully (1/4" or more ok.
so remove it, and clean the carbon seen here.
valve ports. put back pass stall test now?
if hot the hidden exhaust path is blocked.
end, im not doing the vacuum/elect, cat pressure side now.. until you report stall test results.
this test here 1 test cuts the job in half.
