But when I went to your Fixya site it help me find the problem.The right side tensioner has a plastic cap over the bearing for the belt to ride on. The plastic came apart causing to belt to slip off the tensioner, causing the belt to lose it's timing, this intern caused the valves and pistons to come together, bending the valves. This engine by the way has the interference head on it. I am now in the process of having the head rebuilt, hoping that after the head is removed, the pistons are ok.
