SOURCE: How do I set the cam timing of a 2005 Chevy Aveo LT

Please go to this link for the timing belt information you asked for.

Testimonial: "I knew nothing about the engine in the 2005 Chevy Aveo LT, with a 1.6 dual overhead cam engine. But when I went to your Fixya site it help me find the problem. The right side tensioner has a plastic cap over the bearing for the belt to ride on. The plastic came apart causing to belt to slip off the tensioner, causing the belt to lose it's timing, this intern caused the valves and pistons to come together, bending the valves. This engine by the way has the interference head on it. I am now in the process of having the head rebuilt, hoping that after the head is removed, the pistons are ok. This site helped me learn a lot about this engine and the problems that can result if the timing belt breaks or come off the tensioner. I thank you very much for your help in this matter. I will pass on the FIXYA site to my friends. Again I thank you for the help. Jerry."

How do you install a block heater on a chevy aveo 2006?

A block heater is installed in one of the freeze plug ports in your block. Drain your cooling system. Then drill a small hole i the center of the freeze plug and screw a self tapping screw into the hole. You can the use a claw hammer or something similar to pull the freeze plug. Then you just install the block heater in the freeze plug's place. Refill your cooling system and let it get up to full temperature checking carefully for leaks. Please rate my answer.
