You shorted ignition feed? Check this fuse. Not only check the fuse check fuse circuit for voltage, use a testlight, hot all the time.

I have a 2003 Ford Explorer XLT. After removing the key from the ignition and opening the driver door the radioed and windows still have power to them. What's going on here??

Somehow you have a short in the accessory position of the ignition switch, or a wiring fault elsewhere has bypassed the accessory switch. In particular, if you have had an aftermarket radio or remote starter installed, there may be an error in the wiring. or poor quality splicing may have permitted a short between the radio keep-alive (always on) and radio main power (connected through the accessory circuit).

Truck turns over and starts when I connect battery???? No key is even in the ignition.

Maybe the ignition is bad- or your starter solenoid stuck in engaged position?

My 2000 ford windstar will strat but if you shut it off itwont start acts like the battery is dead but its brand new

I would suggest you check both your positive battery cable and the starter solenoid. I had the same problem on a Ford F series truck. I ended up replacing both parts and never had that problem again.

96 ford explorer wont start. all power when turn key. nothing.

if it turns over from below, then its in the ignition switch and this also feeds power to the e.c.m. to make the engine fire so you either have a bad switch contact or the hot 12 volt wire to the ignition switch

96 ford explorer no power no crank no anything

Sounds like a connection problem/error. When you replaced the starter solenoid, do you remember how many wires you disconnected and reconnected?

Was there any indication ( sparks, etc) of accidentally causing a short when you replaced the solenoid?

Your initial problem of no start but hearing the click sound is almost a sure fire indication that the starter is NG. If the solenoid clicks, that means that it is applying 12 volts to the starter.

hope this helps Good luck Loringh
