Mechanic shop kept vehicle for 2 weeks and could not find the problem. They cleaned the terminals at the battery and thought that was the problem. Jeep did the same thing yesterday, however, this time all of the gauge lights did not come on. Any ideas?

REMOVAL - 4.7L
The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) on the 4.7L V–8 engine is bolted to the front/top of the right cylinder head (CMP Location—4.7L Engine).

It is easier to remove/install sensor from under vehicle.

Raise and support vehicle.
Disconnect electrical connector at CMP sensor (CMP Location—4.7L Engine).
Remove sensor mounting bolt (CMP Location—4.7L Engine).
Carefully twist sensor from cylinder head.
Check condition of sensor o-ring.
See picture for sensor location.

My 2003 jeep grand cherokee laredo keeps killing on me. The check engine light comes on and the car kind of coughs. It will then idol down and kill. After a few starts the light goes off and the car runs...

This could be a number of things, have the codes read to find out what the codes say, this will help in the diagnoses, auto zone can do this for free.

Engine trouble light coming on 2003 jeep gr. cherokee

If the light is ywllow, it's emmissions or some sensor. You can drive to a service center and have the codes read. If the light is red...STOP!! and check engine oil. DO NOT drive further!! Have it towed in for service.

Won't start..

First you need to have a diagnostic done before you troubleshoot further, else it will take forever to locate this fault..

Jeep Grand Cherokee Power Loss

a bad cam sensor will cause vehicle to shut off while driving, and cause a hard time starting. but this usually sets a trouble code p0340. scan vehicle to see if any codes come up. after it is fixed, erase codes with a obd2 scanner. if you do not have one, you can go to any auto parts store and they will erase codes for free.

YOUR PCM IS BLOWN! happend to me as my Rear o2 sensore got caught up in my driveshaft. Shorted my pcm. Your PCM is located, if looking under the hood, very back, on the left. By your overflow. Trust me.... :(
