SOURCE: where is the temperature sensor located on a 2002

okay temp is not hot enough check thermostat temp rating is it 195 degree etc. are you in a cold climate state? Maybe you need to get a thermostat of a hotter degree[four seasons 195 degree should do it]. If this is what you have (195 deg. thermo) then it might be stuck open not allowing the heat to build up. Another possibility is air in the radiator system, bleed system. This too might be of help the blend door, which is operated by the HOT to COLD lever on your climate control panel, might not be moving all the way closed to stop the cold air from coming in the mix area with the heat. Move the lever back and fourth to feel any change in heat with your hand. Put the defroster on fan on high and put one hand near the defroster vent thee other hand moving the temperature selector. Do you have some sort of heat and you can feel the difference from hot and cold, then my recommendation is to check thermo degree rating, if ok then try to flush radiator, and if that does not work --replace Heater Core. Thank you for allowing me to help you if you need me just write,Lee

SOURCE: Location of the coolant temperature sensor on hyundai accent 2002

There are normally two, one with one wire which is for the temp gauge, and one with 2 wires which speaks to the ECU. The later one is usually near the thermostat housing or in the cylinder head nearby. If unsure, get the part from parts store and ask if they can show the location chart.

My 2002 Hyundai Accent has had a starting issue for the last month. It will crank but not start. My local mechanic has checked the crank and cam sensors (both fine), replaced the starter (which was old...

yes ---several
one is called an ambient temp sensor that reports to the ECM as to the fuel setting required ( acts like the old pull choke button)
next is a baro sensor that reports the density of the air --again to adjust fuel setting and lastly a mass air flow or mass air volume sensor that again reports to get the fuel setting right
if your local mechanic is not using a scanner tool to have the fault codes read before he picks up spanners , take it to an accredited service center with experience on your make of car and ask for a code reading before work being done
( auto zone does the readings for free)
