Turned the car off and locked it up, a small red light that looks like a key is flashing below the speedo, any idea?

Theft prevention light (just a flasher) or you have a vehicle alarm or immobilizer that is telling anyone that look in your car when it is locked and you aren't around that it is protected :-)

How does one get the clear lense off the interior light in the 2008 model ford focus

If you look very closely there should be a small groove to insert a small flat screwdriver and gently pry the lense out, it has small plastic fingers that lock into the housing. They will pop out with a little force just dont go crazy or they will break. Good luck

Engine warning light , battery light, warning light , rev counter , speedo and temp gauge going on/off intermitantly and speedo not working on digital screen on ford focus can you help. the battery is new...

My 04 Ford Focus the battery light keeps coming on & going off, have fitted a new alternator belt but it didn't solve the problem. The battery connections are good. Also the rev counter, speedo & mileage clock keep going haywire when the battery light is on. Do you think it is the alternator? Or is it some other common problem?

Speedo sometimes failed to work

I had this exact problem on my old focus. Its nothing to worry about and its not expensive. Your car has a speed senser underneath the gearbox and a common fault on these cars is for the gearbox to slightly drip oil. When the oil drips it drips right on top of the senser and blocks the speed readings.
The good thing about this is your milage on your car wont go up when the speedo stops working, so when you come to sell it!!!!!!! you get my point.
to fix this problem it cost about £20 if you do it yourself.
