It is an interference engine. Meaning if the belt breaks ,99% chance the engine is trash. Pistons will slap the valves. Bent or broken valves, up to holes in the pistons. Depends on speed. Being an 01, car is not worth what it takes to fix it. Unless you do it yourself. Junk yard, not remannned.
It depends on sheer luck
Whether you have bent a piston rod or not.
I don't know how you work out if the piston rods are ok.
You may need a mechanic to assess if any damage has occurred.
Also the bearing may be worn out that the timing belt runs on.
On one of my cars I owned a Magna. I got the timing belt replaced well over the recommended 100,000 Km and all the bearings were worn out and the belt was close to breaking .
