you can get a repair manual for a1985 corvette from almost any online corvette parts dealer, Ecklers, Corvette America etc.

this is very difficult to perform . recommend dealer repair if you are not quallified. repair manual required to perform. good luck !

The clusters in the 1985 Corvette are computer controlled, they are very prone to failure. I recommend you remove the cluster and send it in to be rebuilt. You can also get an exchange cluster for many suppliers of Corvette parts like Zips and others you can find on the internet. The cost was about $300.00 when I had mine done. My manual (Chilton) says to remove the front starter support bracket and heat shield, loosen the starter bolts and lower the front end of the starter first. It comes out the front not the traditional back way. Hope this helps.

digital dash,you can repair most problems yourself but it does take patience and some soldering skills

If it is adjustable, when you adjust it, the computer will compensate for any adjustment you do. It tries to keep the timing at a certain point for the life of the motor. You would need to get a cam gear adjustable sprocket to fool the computer. Can get offset keyways also.
