2003focus radio I know the code code1 comes up but the buttons dont work

The dealership is the best place to get the code, based on the VIN number. Most of the 'free' sites have a small charge.

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect itagain, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your carradio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. Ifyou do not have this code you need to go to your Ford servicecentre and get them to enter this code for you.

Insert the radio code by repeatedly pressing button 1 until the first
number of the code appears on the display.
Press button 2 until the second number of the code appears in the display.
Repeat the process on buttons 3 & 4 to complete the code.
When the code is entered correctly press button 5 and the radio should unlock.

If it is saying code 2, thats not a code to input anything. Its a error code for a hardware malfunction.

Remove the radio from the dashboard and quote the SERIAL NUMBER....normally begins with M * * * * * * 

Push the volume button to switch it on..Then enter the code.

code 12 means all clear it flashes that then it pulls up a trouble code if thats all u got then nothings wrong
