SOURCE: 1994 buick lesabre heater core removal
The heater core is located under the dash, in the center. The container holding the core looks like a black plastic box. Remove the ash tray for easier access. You may have to also remove some other covers under the dash. You must first drain the radiator then you have to disconnect the hoses. There are two hoses connected to nipples of the heater core that go thru the center of the firewall. Remove the screws that hold on the cover to the heater core. Then you should be able to get the old one out. There might be a couple of other minor steps but I'm sure you can figure them out. For re-installation just go in reverse order to put it all back together.

You have to remove the entire front of the heater case to change thecore. This usually looks a lot easier in print than it actually IS.Theinstructions say to remove the lower part of the dash for access; usually youdon't have to remove the entire dash for this type of service, althoughsometimes it makes things easier if you loosen and remove any components notmentioned in the procedure that are in your way.
This kind of repair can be frustrating, as it involves working in tightplaces and with 1/4 drive extensions and universal sockets to get all thefasteners out, but it IS possible. Here is what I have for the factoryprocedure. I don't know of any shortcuts to make the process easier; if you can'tget it off, perhaps removing the dash completely for more room would be aviable option...

SOURCE: How do you remove the interior panel on a back
Other than screws for armrests, there are op-in plastic holders that must be pried out of their moorings.
A simple special pry-tool can be had for a few dollars at auto parts stores that will prevent some of the damage that normally results but the plastic parts often break when being pulled out so check if the store has a 'Help' display with specialized parts for just such an event.
You will find a precut plastic film once the panel is removed and pulling these from their sticky glue will often distort the film and make it a chore to reinstall well; use care and patience.
This film is necessary to divert rainwater from motors or speakers so it must be reinstalled.
If made as most, the adhesive stays sticky so the film will normally hold well enough to remount the film.
