Heat comes out of vents not defrost all other positions work
Right side of accelerator pedal, behind actuator, behind big white gear, called cam gear. There are two smaller gears with little plastic lever arms that rotate the smaller gears. If you have no defrost most likely upper arm broken. It's a tight fit, but if you reach up in dash you can turn upper gear & that will turn mode door back to defrost.
I see it when I put my hand up there a piece of it fell off of the lever. Have you ever replaced the lever yourself? Is it difficult to do?
I can turn the gear and open the door so the defrost is on. I just want it to stay that way. it's -20 degrees outside. But, after you drive it around awhile the door falls back down . the wheel spins easily. I'm trying to connect a vise grip on the small gear so the door cannot just flop down.
Is there a fuse I can take out so none of the gears turn?
