2001 ford focus ZX3, #10 fuse keeps popping.

My dashboard/speedometer lights and also the running lights on my 2001 ford focus ZX3 weren't working/lighting, so i replaced the #10 fuse. they came back on - for about a week, and then the fuse popped again!
is it a wiring/electrical problem, some kind of surge? or any ideas? brake lights/headlights work, but no running/dashboard lights..
ANY help would be appreciated, as i dont have the $ to bring it in for a "diagnostic"/or get a ticket..

I worked on a similar problem on a ford focus and the license plate light connector was bare and touching the metal where it fits into the rear trunk hatch.

A loose or damaged wire is causing a short circuit!
you ned to get it tested & rectified by a auto electrician ASAP!
as wiring gets very hot & can destroy your vehicle! {catch fire]

I have all the same symptoms (02 zx3). I found the f30 fuse keeps blowing. I haven't tried to check the 10 fuse under the hood. Maybe we need to replace both?

2005 Ford Focus. Dashboard dead, no brake lights and blinkers.

AutoZone have some funny ideas!

Problems like this are very hard to diagnose. Call out a local auto-electrician. You need someone with a pro grade scan tool and access to wiring schematics and the knowledge to use both.

Where is the fuze box on 2001 Ford Taurus and How do I know which fuse is for Dashboard lights?

Try your owners manual...there should be an illustration showing where it is...and the fuse purpose should be labeled. Many are on the drivers side of the dashboard...you need to have the door open to access them. Hope this helps.

Tail lights only one side works

Hi it may be a blown fuse, Im unsure where the fuse box is on a Ford focus (under the hood, underneath the steering wheel or down the side of dashboard at passenger side)
It will tell you which fuse is for what on the under side of the fuse cover or in your instruction manul.
Simply change the fuse with the exact same amp.
Once fuse is cahnged, check lights.

If taillight still isnt working it may be the light connector itself behind the light cluster.

Hope this helps

What fuse is it for taillights and dome light 2000 ford focus

Running lights (left side): Fuse #47 -- Running lights (right side): Fuse #48 -- Brake lights: Fuse #54. Fuse panel is on the lower left side (underneath) the dashboard. NOTE: If it is your brake lights that are not working and fuse # 54 looks okay, check the brake light switch, it may have gone bad. Dome light is fuse #46 or #47 depending on model.

Intermittent flashing of all dashboard lights

Weird, sounds like your battery connections are possibly loose, but
the car wouldn't start properly, or at all, if this was the case. You might just have a loose connection to the dashboard controls?
If you are up to the task, I'd remove the guage console,if you can,and make sure all the connections are tight. Good luck.

Keep blowing fuse for rear taillights and dashboard lights

Sounds like loose wires. Had a similar problem with my 03 Durango. Kept blowing fuses when I put them in. Came to find out my trailer wiring harness had fried and was shorting out.
