The wand has failed ,this is whats its called in the trade ,now jack up the front of the vehicle then with the belly plate removed you undo the supporting crossmember for the radiator ,this will allow the rad to drop a bit .Now with a 10mm ring spanner put your arm up and undoo the 10mm bolts on the back of the bonnet lock mechanism .simple? well it is the biggest headache is getting the right part so remove it all first then take to dealers for the right one as lots of changes on this part .I thing you will find that a small plastic connection on the end has failed it like a cross in it .But you have to but the complete unit .
Do you have a power trunk button somewhere glove box or on the drivers door you should or inside the console what has happened is the lock or lock rod has broken thats why you can't use the key if you can't find the button go to ford owners.com and register for free then download the owners manual it will show you where it is then you can fix the trunk lock
