98 legacy outback won't start. Has spark, getting fuel all sensors are good. Fuel pump getting power.

Hi,

Please check your alternator. If it's not working as usual, your car would stop as you're describing. It works with engine to give your car constant power. Problem shouldn't be starter as you wouldn't be able to start your car if that was the issue. Thank you.

No power to fuel pumps

Have to start testing that system

No wiring diagrams your in trouble
Sort of like no road map, don't know
what is there to test or what happened

Given the age, you can be sure it is a rust
& corrosion wiring problem,IF infact there
is no battery voltage (power) to whatever
your doing.

Need a volt meter ,system knowledge (wiring
diagrams) & do voltage drop tests

You got power to most everything, what you don't
have is a complete circuit to operate the fuel pump

I would check to see if everything on the truck works,
except the fuel pump.

If your loosing other items, then check fuseable links

The top of the fuel tank may be the issue, as you have all sorts
of water, rust, etc & the wires for the pump,IF the pump is
any good

I CANNOT GET ANY POWER TO MY FUEL PUMP EXCEPT BY PUTTING AN EXTERNAL POWER SOURCE TO IT. WE HAVE CHECKED THE RELAYS AND EVERYTHING ELSE. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN WHERE THERES NO POWER TO THE FUEL...

have you check for power to the main fuel relay ,it is near the ECM. it also poers the ECM up. if no power is coming from it then the ECM will not ground the secondary fuel relay to transfer power back to the fuel pump.

Replaced motor on 2004 suburban and roll over except not starting

If one of the coils are bad the computer will send a code that can be read with a scan tool. Check this and also check your fuel pressure reading with a pressure gauge hooked up to make sure you have pressure from the fuel pump. Even if you hear it, it may not be putting out the correct pressure or fuel filter could be clogged, the sock on the fuel pump could be collapsed, or could just have an air lock in the fuel system. Maybe try pulling the air horn on your throttle body and pouring a VERY small amount of gas into it to force fire while you are cranking. Good luck and hope this helps.
