Disregard my previous post. Pull the throttle body off the engine. Pull the Idle air control(IAC) motor off the throttle body. Clean both of them. Brake clean and a toothbrush works for the throttle. With the IAC use a paper clip/something small(with brake clean) to clean it on the inside. When it is fairly clean, it will turn freely. No roughness/sticking.

I have a 90 accord lx/dx.I replaced fuel filter, air filter and now the car won't stay running and once it does start after running it about 2 blocks if you let off the accelerator it putters like...

Have your engine scoped out by a reputable service shop. Was it running better before you replaced those items? Have you done a tune up lately? Did you buy bad gas? Are your fuel injectors clean? Is the fuel pump going out on you? Are your spark plugs and spark plug wires good? Are their any sensors that may need replacing? I have a 1990 Honda Accord and the car just wants to keep taking my money. It needs too much love to keep any more.

First off, i let the car sit all winter and didn't turn it on once. so when i wanted to drive the accord again it wouldnt start. i replaced the battery, spark plugs, valve covers, starter, used dry gas...

I would check the fuel pressure. You will need a fuel pressure gauge to check it, but it could be a bad fuel pump or plugged fuel filter. A gauge will help you test them.

I have a 2000 Honda Accord Lx and have recently had problems starting the vehicle. It has had a basic tune up ( spark plugs, oil, oil filter, and spark plug cables.) and all the fluids are good. battery...

I would suspect the starter if the battery passes a load test - even though the starter turns over it may have such a high resistance that it cannot turn fast enough. The starter can be tested at your local auto parts store but you'll need to remove it first. If it's one of the expensive types you may be able to have the brushes and armature replaced / inspected.Doing this job is not too difficult but can go bad, so I would recommend having a local rebuilder or shop do the job unless your comfortable with doing it yourself. You can go to your local library and likely find a repair manual or " how to " book on rebuilding starters.

The first thing that must be done is to have the engine control computer scanned for fault codes, if none are present check the fuel pressure
