Try Youtube-lots of videos on different models.
Disconnect negative battery first, then remove wires from starter (battery red cable and the small wire for starter solenoid), then unbolt starter's 2 (sometimes 3) bolts to remove the starter.

Where is the starter located on a 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara?

one of the hardest starters to remove
only held on by two bolts but not enough room to remove it
without taking a lot of parts off

will be best to buy a 2006-2014 vitara repair manual

see if the exhaust manifold removal makes it possible
or the engine mount bracket

this is the 2008 starter
