You cant your not in the movies or hot wiring a 70s vehicle ---go to dealer with vin number and proof of ownership and have a key cut by vin cheaper than destroying your ignition system and steering column only to still not be able to start or move vehicle

You cant. It uses a keyfob. you need the chip in the key to work or the ignition wil stay locked out. There is no bypass. Otherwise the anti-theft feature wouldnt work very well. No other option aside from a new key and having a mechanic or dealership program new keys

SOURCE: 2001 ford taurus wont start and anti-theft light is blinking

Either you may be using a key that you had copied from the original or your chip went bad in your original key. Most of cars now a days have the key censor in the key so if it is the incorrect key it will not start your car or if it does not read that chip it will not start

SOURCE: my car wont start because the anti theft has locked up the car

Lock and unlock the drivers door with the key. This should reset the system.

SOURCE: anti-theft system will not allow car to start -

if the theft light is was flashing on you, put the key in the ignition and turn all the way until the instrument cluster lights up, just don't start the car. leave it like that for aprox. 10 min. or until light goes out. when that happens, turn of(don't take out keys) and try to start car. hope it works.

My 2001 pontiac ssei says to service theft system

I would take it to a dealer and have the ignition switch looked at, That is either pass key (pk stamped in key) or pass key 3 (pk3) and the ignition switch is probably having trouble reading to key to disengage the anti theft system, eventually it wont let the car start, and it never happens when your home!

2001 pontiac grand am will not turn over it is not the battry or starter because i can jump around the key switch on the starter and it turns over but will not start?

Sounds like an anti-theft system problem. When trying to start it look at the security lamp and see if it is on while cranking. If it is you will need a new key. Also try checking any fuses marked IGN for ignition.

I believe that Anti theft has been trigerred, how

If you put a programmed key in the ignition and turn to the run position, the theft light should go out, no waiting should be required.

Make sure the key is one programmed for the truck, and make sure you do not have another RFID tag ( another PATS key, Speed pass tag, other "swipe" style tags ) near the ign switch when you do this.

If the key is programmed for the truck, and the theft light will no go out, you have another problem, usually the next step is the PATS transceiver.

Anti-theft

if the vehicle starts then stops and the anti-theft light is flahing you may need to re-set the pass-key system to do this you will need to atempt to start the vehicle and when it stalls leave the key in that position and watch the anti-theft light. it should flash on and off for about 5 to 10 minutes. when it stops flahing turn the ignition to off then try to restart your vehicle

2001 sebring will turn over but will not start

Most Chrysler cars do have an anti-theft system that can cut out the engine.

I would call the service department, with your VIN handy, and see if yours was equipped with one, and what you need to reset it.

If that isn't the problem, your EGR valve might be bad, or the sensor for it. I've seen a lot of cars where if either the valve itself, or the sensor are malfunctioning, the car won't run properly.

I would also check your MAF and IAC, as those can cause the car to not run.

If you can, get an OBDII code scanner, and pull the codes from your car, they might give you a more specific place to look. (Most parts stores will let you take one home, you put a deposit down, and get it back when you bringthe scanner back to them)
