If the battery has screw caps between the terminals you need to remove them but if its a sealed battery you can skip this stage.if its a 12volt battery make sure you charge it with 12volts put the red charger clip to the positve(+) terminal on battery and the black charger clip to negative(-) if your charger has a gauge you'l notice when you first connect it will go right up on the scale then as it charges it will drop back down. hope this helps

12v battery charge doesn't work in car

A few reasons why the charger is not charging the battery: The charger itself is not working; The battery will not take a charge, the battery can be 'dead'. If you can, connect the charger to another battery, just to see if it is working. The charge indicator needle will move. If you have confirmed that the charger is working, then the battery may be beyond charging. Make sure the connections from the charger to the battery terminals are tight.

How do I use a battery charger to charge my dead battery on a 2001 camaro

The red clamp on the charger goes to the + sign on the battery. The black goes to the -. I you want a deep charge(best) set the charger on 2 amps and run it for 8 to 12 hours. If you need to get the car started, set the charger on 225 amps for just a couple of minutes. Start the car while it is on..2 amps can charge forever. 20 amps for 30 minutes. 30 to 40 amps for 15 minutes. 225 amps for five minutes..DO NOT charge 20+ amps for hours. It will kill the battery

I need to know all the components and how to work them on my 2004 range rover

To charge the battery, use a Dextran Battery Tender or a C-Tek automatic battery charger as T Patrick suggests,. These will not allow you to make a wrong connection and will charge a relatively low battery in about 24 hours or less with no battery damage and no damage to sensitive on-board gear as well. I have used both and prefer the C-Tek because it has multiple functions, even one for cold weather and can be used for motorcycle and small engine batteries as well. Plus, it has rings and a connector that allow a permanent connection to the battery so all you do is plug the charger in without needing to use clamps or removing the battery cover each time. The Deltran also has the ring connector available at extra charge, but the C-Tek came with it. I charge my battery about every 4 months to keep it in top shape.

Battery in Jeep Grand Cherokee dead this am and less than 1 year old. I have a Everstart 100 battery charger plugged in and on the car. How long does it take to charge the battery. The charger is plugged...

How many amps does this charger put out????
A small trickle charger will take forever to fully recharge a dead battery, you'll need to have a battery charger that can put out enough amps to properly charge a dead battery. To clarify, the chargers sold at Sears, the large square types on wheels are the best for charging dead batteries and they also have an amp meter telling you how much the battery is accepting. After you charge your battery, you should be around 12.5 volts to 12.7 volts. DO NOT OVER CHARGE!!!

I need to know what battery in float mode means on my battery charger. It doesnt say and its a smart charger 2amp 6amp and 12amp charger.

Float mode on a battery charger generally means that battery has been fully charged at a faster rate, and the charger is now maintaining the full charge, without overcharging the battery. You can usually leave the battery connected to the charger indefinitely - float mode will ensure it is always at it's peak charge.

Please rate if this helps :)
